[A-110] - Vista Network Setup Help for new PCH Owners

Hello Chris,

You are correct - I do have the PC & PCH directly hooked up via Ethernet, and am able to stream anything via myiHome to the PCH from my PC with no trouble at all.

I've accessed the NMT Applications in the PCH and enabled Samba server (as well as FTP & myiHome) & I also read that link you gave me, but the link refers to, and is set up for XP rather than Vista 32bit SP1 that I am running, and a lot of the screenshots in the link seem very unfamiliar to me in that instance.

Is there any other simpler way to be able to drag / drop / transfer the files from my PC's HDD to the PCH's HDD, using the network given my current connectability?

I noted somewhere else on the forums that a few have tried - successfully apparently - to use Filezilla and FTP to transfer movie files from their PC to the PCH, but if using Samba is easier, then could you explain to me how I might do that in relation to Vista and the current setup I have?

Lastly, is the file transfer from PC HDD to PCH HDD via Samba done from the PC, or from a command the in the PCH's menu somewhere or through the remote?

Sorry to sound like a newbie - I am when it comes to this kind of thing, but I hope to be able to assist others getting through some of the setup issues I've had when they come on here for help too.
