popcorn hour can't see my shared files

I just got my first popcorn hour A-110, I have setup my network using Belkin Wireless G Gaming Adapter 802.11g 54Mbps F5D7330.

I have confirmed that I have network as I was able to upgrade to the latest version, once the network was established I have installed myihome and shared my digital content:



However I wasn’t able to see myihome on my popcorn home page, (I am using the IP auto config, since it is working and since my manual settings didn’t work.)

At this point I have decided to create a private network and share all my folders with the popcorn hour:





Note that I have enabled file sharing, public folder sharing and media sharing and disabled the password protected sharing.

Now I am able to see all the folders from the popcorn hour source, however I am unable to see any of the files in any of my folders, (Music, photos and video)

So to test a theory, I have plugged my external hard drive directly to the popcorn hour via the USB port in the front, I was able to see the usb drive and see all the folders (Just like I did via the private network), however I am still not able to see any of the files in any of the folders!!!

I have also updated the Firmware and NMT applications from http://www.popcornhour.com/download/A110...-A110.html using a USB drive, and I still don't see any of the files in any of my folders!

Please please I need your HELP!

Look at the permissions part for accessing from your PC on your NMT.

I still couldn't find the answer to why I see all the dirs and sub dirs but can't see any of the files when I connect my External HardDrive directly to the NMT USB port?

The PCH is looking for certain types of files.

When you insert a USB stick with some music and video files on it the USB loading comes up and its recognised.

Then select the USB icon and then you get a filter screen - video, music, photo, browser

Select video and it will see mkv, avi, mpeg, iso etc. but it wont see mp3, etc
Select Music and it will see mp3, flac, etc but wont see mkv, avi, mpeg, iso etc.


Back to your network pictures in the first post:-

It is seeing the drives that you have shared I & F and folders called movies and new.

If when you select those folders via the enter key you get the message 'No content found' and you know that there are say video files in the drives/folder you selected and did select the video filter then its down to your PC usually.

You need to let it have permission to access the drives or folders. When you share you do only share you do not give permissions. You have to do that as well as sharing.
Your firewall could also be the culprit if you know that you have given permission. Turn it off and keep off the net whilst you are testing.

If you have an internal HDD in your NMT then make sure you turn ON the SMB server. Then try to map a share from the NMT on your PC. Right click on Computer and select Map Network Drive. Then give the share a drive letter and give the permissions for everyone to access the share. if asked for userid and password its nmt and 1234. Alternatively enter'\\ipofnmt\' in start search box.

When I am in Network and Sharing Center and click on View Computers and devices, I see PCH list but when I go to Computer and click Map network Drive PCH does not showup in the list of devices displayed so I am not able to share its massive 1.5tb internal HDD. Please help

The issue was a permission issue, I had to share the Dir as well as all the folders in each dir, once I did that the issue was solved!!!
