did a-100 licensed for multichannel PCM for AAC?

i would think so, since the setup page enable AAC to output as digital PCM..

[PH] It is very expensive to license multichannel audio decode on Dolby, DTS, WMA Pro, and AAC. We have no plan to turn on multichannel audio decode in A-100 player (even has such capability) due to IP license issue which we cannot affort to do so. All decent amplifier already have multichannel audio decode capability.

So if my receiver doesn't support multichannel aac will popcorn output it to 2 channel?

I ran into a 6 channel aac and had no sound what so ever.

if you select analog pcm on the a-100, it will output 2 channel

Best way would be to ouput :
- multichannel lpcm with 5.1 and pcm output
- stereo lpcm with stereo and pcm output
- raw with raw output

I do have it to analog but still get no audio.

I've even changed the speaker settngs from stereo to 5.1 and get no audio whatsoever.

BTW 2 channel aac works fine in MKV
the majority of the time aac or mp3 doesn't work in mp4 container.

Hopefully the new firmware can fix these issues.
