This skin is based on the XBMC skin, MediaStream, by Team Razorfish. It's been ported to MediaPortal as Streamed MP. Now some of those graphics and visuals are being brought to the NMT. Note that this is still a work in progress. I'll update this post as progress is made.

Installation:
1. Unpack the downloaded RAR file. This should result in a folder named "Streamed.NMT.v1.9.0722".
2. Move this folder to "C:\Program Files\myiHome\webapps\ROOT\theme" or wherever you've installed myiHome.
3. In the myiHome program, go to Edit > Preferences. In the Appearance tab of the General menu, drop down the Select theme drop-down box and choose "Streamed.NMT.v1.9.0722".
4. Restart the myiHome server on your computer (optional?), then reload your myiHome HTTP server on your NMT.

Normally I did not have to restart the myiHome server on my computer, but lately, for some reason, the skin wouldn't take unless I restarted it. So if the skin doesn't take after simply choosing the new skin, restart the server and try again.

Update July 22, 2009:

It has been quite awhile, hasn't it. We should remember that our lives do continue beyond the NMT, though. It is good to see that the NMT modding community is still going strong.

What I have for you today is quite possibly the last major release of Streamed NMT. Actually, very little has changed since the last release. I feel that I've personally done the most that I can at this point in time with this skin, so I've pulled it out of beta. However, I'm sure it's still far from over the skin -- I'm hoping I've inspired you to make your own mods for this skin.

I've outfitted Streamed NMT with a whole new face (mod #4 in a screenshot below). Before almost shutting the doors on Streamed NMT, I wanted to make it our own, and I think I've done just that. I've made minor coding changes.

I had a short to-do list that I'm now purging. I never really used the Pictures page, but from the couple of times I've used it, it looked fine. There was very little interest in an SD version. If there is, I could work on one, or the new DIY pack will make it easier to do so. A fully customizable Weather page that was locally hosted never came to fruition (at least not yet). I never used a TV Shows page either, but the DIY pack will make it easy to make one.

I was never able to finish the Jukebox. I only have an index page, which is now available below. With further assistance from excal, I might be able to get it done slowly, but surely. At this point, there are plenty of other great Jukebox skins. But just to make Streamed NMT that much more complete, I'll still try to continue to work on it.

This time around for the DIY pack (Skin PSD v1.0 for v1.9.0722), I made video tutorials instead. Although no one complained about the last DIY pack, I thought my written tutorial was a little too wordy. So I decided to try video this time. You have to forgive me if I'm not the greatest speaker in the world, but reading a manual isn't exactly exciting. I was also sick and tired at the time of recording it. It's just over 19 minutes, split into 2 videos.

I wanted to bring simplicity to the screen. From the myiHome screen, I saw no need for the "mediasource," "webservices," or "setup" links. If this was made into the main NMT skin, I agree that it wouldn't work the way it is.

I also saw no need to have the "preferences" (and "logout") links as I've never had to use them. However, there seemingly is a convenient space for both of those. This brings me to my next point.

It was pretty fun learning how to skin for the NMT and discovering and working with all the limitations. This is why there's a space/banner at the top -- let's call it a potential placeholder for the missing links.

Because of the limitations, I'll never be able to make this a true port of MediaStream. Aside from Joe's Mediabox, I don't know how to get animation to work, thus why I'm calling this a "Bootleg."

To be honest, I actually only need to get to the Jukebox, which a simple redirect would've probably done easily. In fact, the next step is to work on the Jukebox skin (again, based on MediaStream). I figured I'd release this someday and I'd want to make it more "user friendly."

Also, the only Plugin I use (and know that works) is the Movie Jukebox, but I kept it as "Plugin" on the off chance that there is actually another plugin that works -- maybe for another HTTP streamer; perhaps this skin can be used for another HTTP streamer.

Anyway, that's all for now. I'm very happy with what I have now and I'm very impressed with what the NMT can do. There are a few amazing skins out there already, but I hope this further inspires others to push the limits.
