RE: Best Jukebox For TV Shows
I also create two separate Jukeboxes because I feel like watching a movie and tv show are different activities but also because the skins can be tweaked. I like the movie posters in the default skins, they don't tend to be as nice for tv shows so I like the fanart better for tv.shows and the robinsjexcal does that really well. If you have a lot of movies there also isn't necessarily fanart for all of it and posters are more easy to find even if it's just searching google. I also like file information in movies but in tv.shows it doesn't exist correctly for displaying the information for every episode and I don't care as much anyway.

Yeah, I'm not too fussed about using genres. I rather keep them separate so it's nice and clean. To be honest I'd be happy if the genre's weren't even listed. |

Currently, until Issue 29 is fixed, I sort my tv shows into watched and unwatched and create an index for unwatched and one that combines watched and unwatched into an "All TV" Index, getting the best of both worlds, I can then move over the unwatched tv to the watched, regenerate the indexes and that suits my way of watching the tv ![]() (12-17-2008 08:56 PM)sTyLeS Wrote: I entirely intend on implementing this in YAMJ, especially since Issue 113 is the most highly requested enhancement request right now.Hopefully soon!

That makes sense. Quick question, once you get in a jukebox, how do you get out of it to see the "fileview/list" page, the one where you select the "index.htm" page if it doesn't auto select it? |

RE: Best Jukebox For TV Shows
OK, Newbie here...
I have a ReadyNAS NV+ and a Popcorn A110. I'm trying to figure out to get one of these Jukebox programs to show up on my Popcorn -- ideally running directly from the NAS or the Popcorn... I'd rather not have to keep my PC on for this to work. I followed the instructions here: http://code.google.com/p/moviejukebox/wi...tepInstall and seemed to get nothing done. It created a file within my YAML directory ,but then so what? My Popcorn sources didn't change. I also can't tell if it successfully scanned my NAS or not (I think Not, it went way too fast).. Can someone help here? Is there a program to run on the NV+ that will provide this jukebox functionality? If not, if I need to run it through my PC, what needs to "run" for the Popcorn to see it? Does anyone have any ideal configurations for the NV+? Thanks, Eric |

RE: Best Jukebox For TV Shows
@egoldy
YAMJ is intended to be executed from a PC, but the resulting files do not have to be stored there. As long as the PC you are running it from initially has access to your video library on the network, and you configure your libraries.xml file properly. see here http://code.google.com/p/moviejukebox/wi...aryXMLInfo and here http://code.google.com/p/moviejukebox/wiki/NMTRootPaths to help you get your paths setup correctly. Then after you run YAMJ, the resulting files can be put anywhere on your network...on a PCH internal drive, on your NAS, etc. Then you browse to that location from the PCH. |

The files basically provide the navigation / windows / etc.? I looked at those links, and they're a little confusing to me.. I saw this: file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/[SMB] UserName@ServerName:ShareName/ My NAS is at 192.168.1.112.. Directory is "Media" with many subdirectories.... Should I be doing something like: file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/[SMB] media@infrant_nas:media/ Another question, where can I download moviejukebox? Do you recommend that with YAMJ? Finally, what is YAMJ vs. YASJ? Thanks for all your help and advice.. |

This is an index.htm file along with the jukebox subdirectory and everything inside of it. It is a bunch of html files and images basically. You can have YAMJ automatically save the output straight to whatever destination you want by using the -o flag http://code.google.com/p/moviejukebox/wi...mandSyntax As far as the NMT root path you should be using for your NAS, that depends on how you plan on accessing it. But when you're in your PopcornHour, you have to mount the drive and give it a share name. Use that share name in the example you gave below. You download YAMJ (YetAnotherMovieJukebox) from here http://code.google.com/p/moviejukebox/downloads/list. That same site also has the wiki pages and the issue/enhancement list, etc. All very good reads. YAMJ is the moviejukebox. It's the tool that scans your video libraries, scrapes media info, generates all of the images and browseable html. I don't know what YASJ is. There's another tool called YASP, though, and it just gets used in conjunction with YAMJ which generates additional pages if you have lots of television series and it groups the series together. |

You can have YAMJ automatically save the output straight to whatever destination you want by using the -o flag http://code.google.com/p/moviejukebox/wi...mandSyntax --- OK, some of this is sinking in.. - I made the mistake of dumping the results of the program into my /YAMJ directory - I can fix that.. - I'm still unclear on what you're talking about here: "As far as the NMT root path you should be using for your NAS, that depends on how you plan on accessing it. But when you're in your PopcornHour, you have to mount the drive and give it a share name. Use that share name in the example you gave below." Ideally, I want to be able to access the NAS Server directory (192.168.1.112/media or /infrant_nas/media) and all its subdirectories directly from my Popcorn 110 without requiring my PC to be on. When you say, I need to "mount the drive and give it a share name", can you tell me specifically where and how I do that? Under the Network Share option of the Set-up menu? Also, you said that I should use the share name in the example I gave -- I have not been able to properly create a link to a password protected directory on my NAS from the PCH.. Can you tell me exactly what I need to enter (and where) to mount the drive? I then will take the files from YAMJ and copy it to that /media directory, right? Then, I access the directory from the main menu and run the file? right? Sorry for the questions, but I'm a little new to this box.. Thanks, Eric |
