Question about requesting a RMA code for repair
Hi,

My A100 is totally fine, I'm really stoked I got it. My boss, who's a techie wannabee got one in august and had it sitting somewhere unopened until a couple of days when he asked me to set it up for him and pre-load some content .... The problem is that the unit works, or not, randomly... everything is properly set up, the last firmware and nmt suite where installed while one of the few times I got the unit to boot, but for some reason the unit sometimes does not boot at all, and sometimes (randomly) it shows de pch logo but it won't reach the UI screen. I've also tried the firmware restore procedure with 3 different thumbdrives to no avail.

The unit was purchased online from the http://www.popcornhour.com store, my question is.. There's currently an authorized local distributor in Spain where we're located (o2 media), do we have to ask for a RMA code locally so we can get technical support in Spain, or provide the unit was purchase online from abroad, will we have to send the unit overseas for repair/substition?.

Thanks in advance for the clarification.

Best Regards.

Matt.

RE: Question about requesting a RMA code for repair
Firstly did you try a different HDMI cable?

Then try another TV.

Then try tvmode (wait 2 secs) 7

It's possible it simply isn't negotiating properly with his TV.

Samsung PS51d8000, Onkyo 509, Tannoy EFX5.1, Xbox 360, Popcornhour C200, Sky+HD, Wii, Harmony one

RE: Question about requesting a RMA code for repair
I tried the hdmi cable from my own a100, tried my sony bravia which works flawlessly with my own a100 and tried every tv mode available. The device just won't boot most of the time, and when it does it doesn't get past the pch logo. Also tried with and w/o HDD, with HDD jumper for master/slave selection in various positions... etc... I think I've exhausted all diagnostics.

What's next?

Thanks.
