96Khz/24bit audio via Coax digital from FLAC container?
Hi,
I am just wondering if the A-100 can decode and output 96/24 audio from FLAC files (eg. Rereference Recordings bought from HDTracks) via the coaxial digital output to an external 96/24-capable DAC?
Thanks (and sorry if this has already been answered somewhere, I simply could not find it)

Julius

Hey,

I just tried is with FLAC with DTS. This works good.
So I think that 96/24 will also work.

Thanks Paul, great news. I will try to get some FLAC encoded 96/24 material for testing purposes.

Yesterday I have tried with a downloaded sample track of 96/24 resolution, and it worked flawlessly, so I can happily report that 96/24 FLAC is indeed supported.

Yes Iam happy too, now I can finally use my Musical Fidelity X-24K audio DAC which I've buyed in 1999. The 44.1 kHz led was frozen till now.

24bit/96kHz flac works!!

Now I only have trouble with 24/96 .wave files the DAC shows it's 96kHz but all I hear is NOISE.

Any one luck with 24/96 wav files using the spdif interface?

If you hear noise it is usually because you do not have the volume at '0' as required. The requirements for DTS audio playback are on the WIKI, can'tt remeber exactl but the volume at '0' now that is default level and the DTS file to be named a certain way were requirements.

CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407

Thanks for your reply.

I always keep the volume at "0" for bit perfect SPDIF to the external DAC.

I've tryed several 24/96 .wav & 24/44.1 .wav samples from the net.
All of them sounds as a loud and constant noise without hearing the music itself.

Normal wav files ripped from audio cd plays fine.

My audio settings are all set to Analog/PCM.

It's not a big problem to me, but this is what i came across by testing the 24/96 SPDIF output.

What i said, iam happy that it will work at least with 24/96 flac files.Smile

Thanks,
