RE: Asus eee BOX B204 a PCH A110 Killer???
don't think so. Asus eee it's just another small computer. PCH will survive Asus eee, as it survive all the other HTPCs. I don't need a complex and expensive computer to do what PCH can do with inexpensive hardware.
also PCH consume 15 watts. A laptop consume 60 watts. Asus eee will consume about 30 watts. |

It's all coming down to the price, haven't announced it yet...
however seems to include internal 160GB, gadgets like remote control/wifi/bluetooth/UPS, consumption is ~20W... hmm... |

They say that will cost about $299. and will include Asus Cinema Suit that can do everything... If this suit wont do .. just put in MediaPortal... Ofc all will be proved when i read some reviews of it... If the price is right and it does all that it says i think that NMT's will have a hard time... |

RE: Asus eee BOX B204 a PCH A110 Killer???
Sounds like your mind is made up already.
I'm vary wary of apps suites that can do it all as invariably it is found that they dont. I want a piece of CE kit that can sit as equally well next to my TV in the living room or elswhere, I dont want a laptop. A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

Its a tiny computer, if u dont like the looks of it it can be hidden anywhere if u dont want to see it... only the remote adapter has to be seen (for the remote control to work).. btw i m a happy PCH A-100 owner.. its just that this EEE box offers to much.. and if the price is right it would be a big competitor to any NMT.. My thoughts.. |

So yes. solamnic, thanks for the information. I'm mostly happy with my A-100 except for me (Windows Home XP SP3), SMB shares aren't working in newer firmwares. Hopefully they'll get that fixed and I can go back to using the device rather than mucking around with it (there are some REALLY nice features in recent firmwares that I'm missing). But if that doesn't happen, this other device has potential on paper. Of course things can look really nice in press releases. |

Hey, pchuser, take your smartass comment and shove it. I'm very new to this stuff, as are many of us here. Next time I post a valid question about something on this board, ignore it.

I have last stable firmware and windows xp home sp3, and samba works great for me. Maybe you should post some details of your problem and we can help you fixing it. |

I also have XP sp3 latest firmware and Samba works great.
I can find my way home from Sierra Leone, but I'm lost without an inside pocket. |

RE: Asus eee BOX B204 a PCH A110 Killer???
I love my PCH, but I may go for one of those from Asus. I have had an Asus EEE 7" PC , first generation and it was marvelous, it was the start of new low budget laptop concept, then Asus started the next generation EEE 9", then 10", and lots of companies followed with different models. Having a tiny HD Asus EEE PC shall be wonderful in my opinion. I'm waiting for this little PC..

Crank up a game or h.264/VC-1 HD decode and I'm sure that number doubles or triples. The Asus eee comes with 36W adapter, so i suppose it consumes 30W aprox. |
