[A-110] Are AVIs with multiple subtitles supported?
Hello.
So far, I haven't been able to see subtitles for a plain vanilla AVI if there are more than one, in the format: moviename.en.srt moviename.fr.srt etc. I can only play back one of them if it's named moviename.srt Does A-110 support multiple SRT subtitles for the same AVI movie or do I have to use a MKV wrapper? Thanks. |

Please use search:-
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...p?tid=2659 You cannot just slap an xvid or srt subtitles in an MKV container and expect it to work properly im afraid. Oops. I had missed that.
I was thinking of reencoding the file but it's not worth it. It would be faster to encode 3-4 movies and their subtitles into a DVD using ConvertXtoDVD. Thanks. |

RE: [A-110] Are AVIs with multiple subtitles supported?
I've used AVI-Mux GUI to mux multiple SRT files into an MKV (you can demux the AVI and remux into an MKV container).
Just make sure you properly "mark" each SRT with the proper language code (e.g. "eng" for English). Or else they all show up as "Unknown" under the Popcorn Hour or if you have a specific "preferred" subtitle language to turn on when you are doing playback. You rarely have to "reencode" AVI files to put them into an MKV container. Just demux the AVI files into their respective audio and video files, mux in those in together with the SRT's, are you're done. It's *VERY* quick and easy. Works on HTPC's and Popcorn Hour! RE: [A-110] Are AVIs with multiple subtitles supported?
Fine as long as you dont xff or rw, then they go out of sync, we then get a post in the video section saying 'The Axxx is a total load of ...... it wont play my MKV without going out of sync!'
Putting xvid into an MKV is NOT a good idea. A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

Thanks for the ideas.
I'll do a few videos to see how long it takes. In the meantime, I just use Filezilla to rename the SRT I want to use. |
