Remote Control; Solved!
The remote control does only work when I point it exactly on the a-100. Does anyone know where the IR receiver is placed and if there is something which I can do to improve this?
Does anyone uses a Kameleon AFO? I cannot learn the keys from the original remote control. Does anyone know which type of device I've to use on the AFO? Thanks. Ooris |

Make sure that the IR receiver is flush to the front panel and square on to the panel.

the key word is flush..
the reciever needs to align totally flush with the faceplate.. for 100% signal recieving strength Join our facebook page today! http://www.facebook.com/networkedmediajukebox |

alex.brokenarrow Wrote:the key word is flush.. I opened the box en pushed the receiver in front of the faceplate as good and straight as possible. It is receiving a bit better now, but still not good. Can I replace the receiver by a better one? I once obtained a LIRC receiver for my PC's serial port. That one has a TSOP1737 on it. It receives everything, even when I point at the ceiling... |

you can try and let us know..
![]() anyway, it is a known "problem" that the remote will only work if you point directly at it... so i am getting used to pointing the remote to a-100 rather than my TV... cheers Join our facebook page today! http://www.facebook.com/networkedmediajukebox |

alex.brokenarrow Wrote:you can try and let us know.. The solution is much easier! I've tried to use the remote without the face plate. It worked perfect! (yes, also via the ceiling). So I removed (scratched) the paint from the plate in front of the IR receiver and put it back. The remote is working perfect now (no more aiming and pressing twice) The AFO is also working. Through the Helpdesk I've received the codes, they are already known there (mine is Kameleon URC8308). The AFO even works better (via the back wall  ). |

carper Wrote:Hi, Its code 2260, but its not in the AFO by default. You have to upload the code. You have to call the helpdesk for it, or I can mail you if you PM me. (My soundfile does also include other codes, but that doesn't matter. If you had uploaded custom codes already to your AFO they will be overwritten. In that case you have to call the helpdesk for a soundfile with all your codes.) |

May be of help to some. I use an MX-500 universal learning remote from Universal Remote (http://www.universalremote.com/product_d...?model=55)
These remotes have VERY strong IR output signal and basically flood the room with IR. I have no trouble aiming the remote casually at my entertainment center and it works reliably. Cheers. -- Denon 3808CI PCH A100 Roku M1001 Samsung PN50B400 |
