[B-110] mkv playback issue
Good day to all.

I have the B-110 on a silverstone case and when I updated it for the latest firmware the playback of mkv files is a mess. the audio works fine (even the DTS downmixing) but the video shows a "sparkling snow effect" on four distinct vertical lines. On ordinary divx files (lower resolutions) it works fine.

I've already contacted support and I am waiting for some help but if anyone has some input I'd love to hear it. Up until now I was mesmerized with my NMT B-110 baseline on my 40" LCD but with this issue it renders itself practically useless.

Thanks for the attention!

RE: [B-110] mkv playback issue
very odd

Doesnt sound like something the PCH could be causing but more like some digital or electrical disturbance

What videooutput have you selected ? Did you try changing to different output resolution ?
Did you try with a different HDMI cable if connected with HDMI ? Did you try different HDMI input on your screen ?

RE: [B-110] mkv playback issue
Hi spawn! Thanks for the reply. The PCH is connected via HDMI to a Samsung LCD. I've just tried another HDMI cable on a different HDMI input on the LCD. I've cycled through different output video signals and it's the same. Viewing a 720p h.264 file there always that effect.

Thanks

EDIT:

Here's the file that I've tested several times, from what I've read it is a file fully supported by the PCH.

RE: [B-110] mkv playback issue
yes - that should be fully supported

Is it happening on other 720p h264.mkv files or only on this one ?

Try remuxing this file to a .ts file using tsmuxer and see if problem are the same.
