RE: new to nmt and very lost
Hello guys, chris57, especially.

I tried to set up my hdx1000 last february with your great help, but then gave up because of desperation, low self-esteem and lost of work. Now I'm trying again. I have done what chris suggested:

If you firmware is up to date it should tell you so and abort. If not then update via USB your firmware.
After firmware update it should reboot and go automatically to the first screen for formatting the HDD.
Dont worry if it doesnt as you simply go to Maintenance and select 'NMT Setup Wizard'
Then 'Fresh' install and Ext3, this will wipe your HDD but install the NMT apps and format the HDD to Ext3. Select Ext3 and USB as the source of the update.

But... I just can't find 'NMT Setup Wizard' when I go to Maintenance on my tv screen!!!

I just get 2 options: check for firmware update and reset to factory settings, no wizard to be found.

I want to format as Ext3 and, if I remember correctly from your advice, I have to do that connecting the hdx to my tv?

What's wrong? Is there another way to format as Ext3.

Thanks in advance.

Tell us what ip settings you have set and how your network is configured. You may just have the wrong DNS addresses or something. What NMT apps are turned ON? Reboot your router/modem.

There is talk of freezing with HDX units:-

But get your settings right and check your network before jumping on any bandwagon.
