still very lost starting up hdx 1000
Hi,
I am trying to run my new hdx 1000. I installed a HD and formatted it with computer as NFTS. Moved some stuff into it but computer started crashing and now I can hardly do it. I am going to refomat HD as Ext2/3, using the firmware via USB stick. But now my doubts are: 1. Do I need to do all that connecting the hdx to the tv? If I try doing it connected to the computer I see no sign of the usb stick (which I plugged on the usb host directly over lan). 2. Should I reformat to factory setting my hdx before installing firmware and moving to Ext2/3? Given that I am having serious problems getting it to talk to the computer perhaps some trash got into it. 3. If I move to Ext2/3, can I still move .iso files into the HD? Thanks a lot. |

I will prompt you format, etc. Then upgrade f/w after that. Dont recall the exact sequence, but I think it's the way I did mine. Answer to 3. You can map drive in your pc. Login creds are provided in the instructions. Once mapped, you'll be able to transfer files to the HDD. |
