I was wondering: before we can get mpd to support the audio output of NMT natively, maybe a way to go would be to use the "fifo / pipe" output plugin of mpd (it's in the svn version of mpd) and then stream the data to the native NMT player (mono). I do something similar in my lastfm script (http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...id=15095), and I've just found out that mono can actually play music in the background (while you browse the files) if you run it with "-audio -nogui -no_disp" and kill/restart gaya afterwards. (The "-prebuf" option of mono could also be useful here to decrease the latency.)
Of course, native output of mpd is an ideal solution. |
