directfb experimentation.....

Hi!

One of those missing symbols again..

I installed a debian base system and chroot:ed to that on the NMT.

I copied all the libs from the "normal" NMT /lib dir to a custom dir inside the chroot environment and added that dir in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Then I installed mplayer with directfb support (just for test)... I also copied the directfbrc and smp8634rc from /etc to the chroot environment...

But when trying to run mplayer ... the directfb (from the original NMT /libs) returns that it cannot find the "write_int" symbol.. is that a symbol anyone have seen and maybe knows where it comes from?

In my experience "Unable to dlopen...." was caused linking in a custom uclibc which wants to open the Sigma libdirectfb.

I don't think you will have much luck with mplayer without using hardware acceleration.

naaa.. I don't expect mplayer to actually produce useful output... It was only used to test wether the directfb implementation works "as is" without custom settings/options under right circumstances...

I will continue testing some stuff and see where I get.. the ultimate goal is gtk+ and webkit..... or maybe SDL + ScummVM...

Hi!

If it is of any interest, I have already running embedded Qt 4.4.3 with directfb support on the PCH A-100. So I may say that directfb is working "as is", but I must note that not all of the Qt demos/examples are working 100%.

Some don't even startup, some crash after some time, and others just work. Like the fluidlauncher demo.

And no, the webkit browser example is not running at all
I still have to look into this.

I still have to look into this.

Ah! That's cool! .... =) maybe there is no full support for everything in the syabas directfb implementation...

I will continue investigate why my setup does not work....

Do you run in a chrooted debian environment on the NMT or have built everything yourself?

I've build (cross compiled) everything myself on a Ubuntu virtual machine on a Windows host.
After that I just copied the Qt libs & demo's/examples over to the PCH in a separate directory.
