(A110) NFS problems after firmware update
This week I noticed that after updating my PCH A110 with the latest firmware version I can't play any files from my Synology 107+ NAS through NFS.
Before this firmware update I was able to play movies directly from the NAS. The PCH can still see the NFS server. I can browse through the directories on the Synolgy NAS but when I try to open a folder containing movie files it says: Request cannot be processed Is there anyone who has a similar problem? I'm very interested in your solution. |

Yes, I got same problem! Then I see, that my HDD is formated (right click on HDD icon in your Synology then Formating) as NTFS but allocation size is set to 4096. Try change this at 512. I hope this will help you!?

RE: (A110) NFS problems after firmware update
Hmm, I think it is not my Synology NAS. Nothing has been changed there. Besides it is NFS that is Native File System access for Linux. Both the NAS and the NMT are EXT3 file system. It has definitely nothing to do with NTFS! I only updated the firmware of the Popcornhour. Maybe I should try to go back to the previous version...

I have the same problem with a Bufallo NAS (also NFS and EXT3), but here, i se a "Buffering screen" and nothing happens. |

I also have similar problems. It only shows some of my directories and movie files, but if i browse back and forth more directoris comes to life, and this is very annoying, and it's definately something with the newest firmware, and i hop PCH will do something about quickly in a new firmware release.

Very strange, I have no probs with my Readynas Duo using NFS to my popcorn with the new firmware. My Duo is using EXT3. Hope you get it working.

RE: (A110) NFS problems after firmware update
Interesting. I thought perhaps I was having this issue due to Windows 7, but maybe not...
My issue is that the PCH can see the server, and can see the main shared folders, but when I try and access any of those folders it gives me a "Please make sure the target server is running" message. It's obviously running, silly PCH, as you're browsing it right now I eventually gave up and moved to myihome, but I'd rather use NFS.

RE: (A110) NFS problems after firmware update
I just unpacked my new PCH A-110 and tried to connect it to my DS-107+ with NFS. I got the same problem as mentioned in the TS. Playing an MKV stays on buffering for a long time and refuses to play normally. Connecting through SMB works like a charm, but I'd like to use NFS for greater performance (as I've been told).

RE: (A110) NFS problems after firmware update
Hi, I've got a similar problem. I own two Popcorn Hour A110's, flashed to the latest firmware, and a Synology RS407. Both of them work perfectly with my SMB shares. Approaching the RS407 with NFS works for browsing - it sees all folders I've configured for NFS without me having to enter them - but not for playing. I get the 'Buffering' screen after which the A110 seemingly freezes up (or displays a few frames over a period of 10 minutes, and *then* freezes).
Has anybody got any idea what might cause this problem? Thanks! |

RE: (A110) NFS problems after firmware update
I keep having exactly this issue with this firmware 01-17-081023-15-POP-402-000 (which is the firmware for the PCH A100 as i have the PCH A100 and not the A110) and all firmwares newer. If I use the old firmware (080812) all my NFS shares with my synology 107+ work fine. But after an upgrade of the PCH100 firmware (with any firmware after 080812) I can only connect to my synology using the built in upnp. On every NFS (and SMB) share it says 'request cannot be processed'. It hasn't got anything to do with a wrong (or lost) password because if i change that I get another page about wrong user/password.
If I use an SMB share and look on my synology current connections event log I can see it has a connection but my PCH still says 'request cannot be processed' It has probably something to do with these changes in 081023 firmware Quote: 5. Network It seems there are more people that have this problem (I'm not the only one). My solution is downgrading to firmware 080812 but i would really like to use the resume functionality in the newer firmware, but alas. I would really like to know if this problem is related to just the 107+ model (because the original poster describes exactly the same problem with his 107+) F.y.i. my synology (107+) is running on fw DSM 2.1-0832 |
