RE: FLAC multichannel support
Since it seams that we will not see the FLAC support in current models, I hope that this is planned for next version due out this year!

RE: FLAC multichannel support
Is this the same reason I can't get an H.264 encoded mp4 with 5.1 channel AAC encoded audio to pass anything other than stereo to my receiver?
(+1 for FLAC multichannel as well) |

Multichannel AAC is even more rare than multichannel FLAC, so I think there's very slim chance your mp4 will be playable on NMT anytime in the foreseeable future. Either transcode the audio track to AC3/DTS/LPCM or listen to it in stereo. |

RE: FLAC multichannel support
Wrong - MPEG2 + AAC (multichannel) is standard for Japanese HDTV.

RE: FLAC multichannel support
Good to know. The A110 will actually play an mp4 with multichannel AAC, but I haven't yet found a receiver that will decode the multichannel signal through HDMI or optical/coaxial. For now it just plays the signal in stereo.
![]() Also (and this may need to move to another forum), but is there an easy way to join an H.264 encoded mp4 with an AC3, DTS, or LPCM multichannel audio stream? |

RE: FLAC multichannel support
Will the C-200 have multi-channel FLAC support? The current specs only mention FLAC audio support, not whether multi-channel is supported.
Will that be made available for the A-1xx models? |

RE: FLAC multichannel support
I have the King Kong Extended DTS-MA track and would like to convert this to FLAC but eac3to does not work?
Anyone knows how to do this? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Steve |

I did it with no problems using v3.15. You will also need the Arcsoft DTS decoder from TMT version 2. Not sure if version 3 will work as I don't have it. |

RE: FLAC multichannel support
Because libav (the standard built in EAC3TO decoder) doesn't decode the HD part of the audio - the Arcsoft DTS decoder does.

Ok, this version 3.15 does work, thanks for that. I also downloaded Total Media Theatre 3 for the arcsoft DTS decoder but it still is using Libav!!! Do you know what I am doing wrong? This is what I do: eac3to kingkongdtsma.dts kingkong.flac |

RE: FLAC multichannel support
do EAC3TO -test and see if the Arcsoft DTS decoder is working with EAC3TO. As mentioned by Killroy above, certainly TMT 2 works with EAC3TO. From what I was reading on the Doom9 forum, TMT 3 works only up to patch 3.01. 3.5 again breaks compatibility with EAC3TO. You may also add the -arcsoft command line to force the use of this decoder. You can get more information in the EAC3TO thread on the Doom9 forum for sure.
Cheers, -jj- |
