[skin] ppp1 - 5150 with robinsjexcals fanart background

Hi, because i like the 5150 skin very much, but also like the fanart background of robinsjexcals skin, i've combined both to one skin. So some others ask for it, i post it now. First i wanted to name the skin 5150_robinsjexcals, but than i mistyped it 3 times in my moviejukebox.properties so that i renamed it to ppp1 - that was easier...

I did not changed much - only some backgrounds to a transparent black background. Cause i did it for my needs, i lowered the thumbnail size a bit, to display 12 thumbnails per page.

So the gratitude belongs mainly to tson for his great 5150 skin (link) and to excal for the fanart background feature (link).

Because i am very new to yamj (i found it on Friday), i can not promise that there are no new bugs in the skin. At this time i use YAMJ only for movies and TV shows - i think they work as good as in the 5150 skin.

This skin is based on YAMJ v.1.0.16 (r810 and above). Don't use it with the 1.0.15! With 1.0.15 Episode Numbers aren't set and there are some other annoying errors. So use YAMJ v.1.0.16 (you can get it here: http://pch.omertron.com/YAMJ_Latest )!

skin uses arrays instead - this fastens the episode browsing a bit
- Changed the behaviour of number buttons
The numbers sets the focus to the episode, so that the infos are shown.
They will not start the episode any more.
- Use Ok or Play Button to start an episode.
- Delete-Button can show/hide the poster
- Play-Buttons does not start the first episode,
it starts the active link now.
- On TV show pages PageUp/PageDown buttons jumps to first/last episode
- Poster size is now set to skin.properties value (posters.width)
- poster can be hidden at the start (Detail Option #8 - showPosterAtStart - ppp-options.xsl)
- vertical position can be adjusted (Detail Option #10 - posterTdValign - ppp-options.xsl)

Noice. And this comes out a few hours after i spent 2 days combining 5150 with the Rutabaga skin since it had fanart background. Finally got it half decent but u can see the Rutabaga skin on Omertons site and its good once u make a few customizations.

The poster is a little smaller then 5150 on the details page which is kind of good so as to cover up less of the fanart but then it has previous & next cover/poster at bottom left which i dont like and isnt needed. On the details page u want to see just about that movie/show and the arrows to go to previous & next without going back to the main browsing screen are enough even if u dont know what prev & next files are.

Also rutabaga just has some icons for the file type while i like how 5150 uses those but gives you more info.

Covering a lot of the background kinda sucks but it is just for background and while i uses to think that seeing the poster when browsing was enough but its good to have it again bigger in the details page. A button to flip to the back cover woukd be even sicker but prob getting too complicated. Like i said the fanart is just for background but while some are just repeat of the cover or kinda plain, some are nice so it woukd be nice to have the option to at least hide the description (ala robinsjexcal skin) to see more of the background though i guess really its more the large sized poster/cover of 5150 that is ultimately covering most of the fanart so a way to hide both woukd be the ultimate. Just to be able to hide them for a couple seconds to look at that full fanart background unobstructed then read the description/summary. Maybe a way to choose having both hidden upon entering and then hit a button to have both poster/cover & description/summary with file info pop up or have it up by default and a button to hide it. I mean it is only background and most arent that great but some are nice and most of it gets covered up so woukd be good just to see it unobstructed real quick and then view the cover & details. Maybe even have it unobstructed at first upon entering the details page & then have the poster & details etc. automatically pop up. Cus u only need to see it for a second or 2 to know whats back there cus when its blocked it just makes u more curious.

Still i think this is better then the rutibaga 5159 combo i spent time on abd then wgen the new excal/mcmilly (and whoever else is working on it) skin comes out i will prob switch to that but this is a great addition so thanks ppp and as always to Omerton whose site and help on the forums us greatly appreciated & respected.

I will post an other skin (perhaps this evening), which shows a lot more of the
fanart. Its looks a bit like robinsjexcals, but is also based on the 5120 skin.

I've done it after ppp1, cause it suits more my needs and wishes. It has no
feature to hide all (at the moment), but this can be done - i'll see.

This doesnt auto download fanart does it? I dont believe anyones done that yet have they?

If YAMJ cant find fanart saved next to a given film, will it just use a defined default image? With hundreds of films, i might just start with fanart for my favourite flix....

It should autodownload it...all you need to do is set one option in the skin.properties file to true and it will autodownload all fanart.

It autoloads the fanarts - BUT you have to overwrite also your XML files (if you used a skin till now, which did not loaded the fanarts), not only the HTMLs. I know that sucks, but it must be done, cause the path to the fanarts are saved in the xml files.

ON the main page of a title,
its not Green on the play icon,
but its green on the left back icon,

Is there any way to change that in the skin properties?

This is simply the best looking skin ever as regards with detail pages.
I think that Poster + fanart background is the best solution for detail pages, and the way this skin shows them is awesome.

Unfortunately I don't think I'll use this skin that much since I need all the features of NMTServer(sorting on movie release date and imdb rating, Hiding watched movies, stacked search, drill down on Actors, Director and Company...).
PPP, if you don't mind, I'll ask ithiel (NMTServer autohor) if he can add this skin to his jukebox.

Hi, i had to do an update to the skin. I used an xml editor to format the source code so it looks a bit prettier. But this damn editor removed all &#...; Chars. So i'm sure it will have some problems. I'll repack it and renew the rapidshare file and the link.

Thank goodness I am not alone on Rapidshare... what a nightmare. People should really try using Megaupload as it is far friendlier.

Regardless, I also have tons of free ON-LINE storage so if anyone needs to host a download, please let me know ;-)
