PLoNK , Android remote controll of Popcorn Hour and llink - Update

Just wanted to share a few screen dumps from my latest project PLoNK. It's a Android remote control application allowing browsing of llink and launching media on your NMT.
So far I've done:
1. a custom llink skin outputting xml
2. a handset parser reading this file.
3. a longClick popup with additional data and play link
4. a custom cgi/php script for the NMT accepting links and commands.
5. Successfully launched movies on the PCH
6. Basic remote control screen.

Im about to start a google project page and will upload all code there. Im focusing on a first release in a roughly week with "just" llink browsing.

As Android, is this sharing the same or very similar WebKit as iPhone?

Yup, WebKit.
Im not using the browser function but rather parse llink xml output and leave the gui output of things to my app instead of the llink-skin...

iPhone? Sorry but no. I dont have one and I dont think the dev environment is as good as for android...

I've manages to code a SAX parser and got some basic navigation working (my second week of java, ever).
The speed is fantastic. Going into my movies share with ~100 movies, listing name and plot takes a few seconds
Next steps are:
1. "item long press" pop up with cover, additional imdb data, links and option to play.
2. Telnet function to actually play a movie on the tv
3. Script execution

If anyone want to give it a try you can find the obligatory llink skin "plonk" here and the PLoNK.apk here just remember this is pre, pre alfa status

At first start file listing will of course fail. Just press menu and edit your ip of llink and restart PLoNK.

Since you added the plonk_nmt.cgi I take it you just needed to modify the llink-nmt skin, not needing the Telnet function?

Exactly, though that is a way to easy method for my android app
I plan to have a full screen remote gui with all buttons and the possibilities to launch scripts etc...

You have to skip sleeping and dive into it . I hadn't written a line of java ever since 3 weeks ago but with the android SDK and all documentation its quite easy...
