[A-110] Playing movies from SMB Share
I am a newbie to this Forum and just recently received my PCH-A110. I have been reading the information and following the Wiki's to slowly work through the set and configuration of my A110. I plan to use YAMJ and have done some testing with it prior to receiving my A110.

I have a HTPC and have a 400GB drive that has movies that I have backup over the past several years. Each Movie is in a seperate subfolder each having a Video_TS and Audio_TS subfolder. I have set up the Media Source and can see that structure from my A110. It set up a SMB Media Source.

Should I be able to go to that Media Source (Named: Movie1) and play a movie? When I do and either select a folder or navigate and hit play, the screen goes blank and I have let it sit for over an hour once and nothing played. Do I need to add a NFO file to the subfolder for each movie? I have tried with no sucess. I am just wondering. I want to verify I have things set up before I proceed to setting up YAMJ.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

RE: [A-110] Playing movies from SMB Share
With the latest firmware, you should be able to just click the OK button on the folder name "movie 1" and will play. It really sounds like you are having issues with streaming not the PCH. Are you using wireless or are you hard wired? If you are using wireless, try and temporarily run a cable to your router and see if that solves the problem. If it does, you know you have issues with your network.

It is hard wired. I spoke to another PCH-A110 user and he said it might be becuase the on the MOVIE1 media source, I have all my movies in seperate folders and inside those folders are the VIDEO_TS folder and AUDIO_TS folder. I tried moving them up to just the movie folder (Moved from D:\EagleEye\Video_TS\VTS_05_PGC_01.IFO to D:\EagleEye\VTS_05_PGC_01.IFO) and had no success. I am wondering if it might be related to my SMB share. At present I have the firewall off, I check the Local Security Policies as mentioned in the Wiki. The user info is blank. Does it use the guest account then?

Thanks.
