Mounting _sub folders_ of SMB shares as the Popcorn Hour file root
As described in another thread here, I would really like to be able to mount sub folders of SMB shares in my Popcorn Hour A-110.
That is, if I have an SMB share at the following address (which is the root of my NAS drive): smb://192.168.0.100/nasmain I would like to mount the following sub folder of it, located at: smb://192.168.0.100/nasmain/media/movies as the Popcorn Hour file root. Why you might ask? Because the stupid NAS (and many other such devices) only shares its root folder as an SMB share. I have many other things on my NAS except the movies, e.g. backups and personal pictures that I do NOT want to be browsable from the Popcorn Hour in my living room, so I want the Popcorn Hour to be limited to the "/media/movies" sub folder of the NAS (i.e. unable to escape it, having its own "root" located in this sub folder). This must be a common problem that many people would like to solve, and it would also be extremely simple to implement in the Popcorn Hour firmware (no extra GUI elements at all, simply parse the SMB URL into share + sub folder (e.g. "smb://192.168.0.100/nasmain/media/movies" = "smb://192.168.0.100/nasmain" + "/media/movies"), mount the share and use the sub folder as the file root in the Popcorn Hour!). Please consider implementing this in the next firmware upgrade! (and please other users let them know that you want this too!) |

Yes, I want that feature too.
In NFS this is working. Erich A-100 with latest Beta-Firm in Livingroom Xtreamer in Cinema Ubuntu 9.10 64Bit Server with 2,5TB mit Linksys GBit Switch, SMB protocoll, CRT Barco G808s LC Mod with Lumagen Radiance 1080p@47,96Hz or 50Hz, Audionet MAP1 with DIY Speakers and appr. 2kW power |

Signed up [partly] just to say I would like this feature as well. Not having to browse through a sea of menus will help immensely with ease of use.

Sorry to bump this but I want this as well.
I searched all morning for a resolution to this issue and then found this request. From the post above it seems that NFS will support this. I will give this a try to see if it solves my issue. Laters, Jeff "...yes sir sorry it looks like you have an id 10 t error..." |

The NetworkMounter application can probably do this for you.

Would like to see this added as my PCH's are diskless, so NFS isn't an option for me.
