RE: [A-110] Firmware Version : 01-17-090201-15-POP-403-000
This firmware does not work as well as the previous release. Playing MP3 folders does not work anymore!! There are problems (with previous working) iso files. And some other little annoying bugs that wern't there before
I think they did not do enough testing!! before release....

Indeed
my a110 can no longer stream any m2ts movie in avc or h.264 format. they stutter badly within seconds streaming from my synology nas drive. However the hd mpeg2 devils rejects full 1080p streams perfectly still. Tried power off and flush cycles and still the same problem Just to make sure it was not my network the same files stream without glitch to my pc using powerdvd |

RE: [A-110] Firmware Version : 01-17-090201-15-POP-403-000
what exactly is the work around for the directv dvr issue?
just want to make sure I won't be losing something by installing this and plugging my dvr's back in. also...anyone else having issues with m2ts files after the upgrade? that is a huge thing for me. everything I have is either m2ts, vob or iso files. RE: [A-110] Firmware Version : 01-17-090201-15-POP-403-000
Ummm...
... a new firmware release? Why no fanfare?! I'll download it now - if it destroys life as we know it, I'll know why! I'm intrigued as to these "critical patches". Hopefully it will've tightened VIDEO_TS playback a little - a couple of my rips still don't start. Also, can someone please comment on whether or not there's a thread for suggesting improvements? I have a problem that's not exactly a bug, but it's definitely a pain. Actually, I'll post it here while it's still fresh in my mind. If it needs moving, I apologise. I have one significant technical problem with my VIDEO_TS playback. Certain rips freeze at the position of the layer-break. I say "position" because the layer-break itself isn't there anymore. Basically, when I started ripping discs with DVDShrink I chose to take the layer-breaks out, because I have a number of very old DVDs (dating back to 1998), wherein the positions of the layer-breaks are extremely clumsy. For instance, on Ronin, it comes mid-musical crescendo following a thrilling shoot-out (the worst...). I decided that I wanted to get these layer-breaks out, thereby allowing the films to flow properly... ... which all seemed like a good idea, at the time... ... but it wasn't. It was only after I'd ripped 400 discs that I realised a problem even existed - I was watching Barton Fink, and after an hour, the playback froze. I discovered that I could fast-forward past it, but I couldn't watch it at normal speed. It was at this point that I began testing other discs, to see whether this was a freak accident. Sadly not - twelve of the 154 dual-layer movies I've tested lock at the layer-break point - a failure rate of about 8%. Which is too high for a machine that I bought to 'replace' my DVD player - which has a failure rate of 0%. This is a serious pisser. It's meant that I need to test all of my dual-layer rips (and I have over 300 of them...) one-by-one, and re-rip all the ones I come across that don't work properly, this time with their layer-breaks. This has already taken weeks, and forces me to watch movies, whether I'm in the mood or not!!! Can anyone at Syabas look into why this missing layer-break information is causing a problem? I know this isn't a popular defence around here (I only raise it in case it helps the problem-solving process, at all...), but VLC player manages to move onto the second 'layer' just fine. When these discs are re-ripped without the layer-break they fail again - and when re-re-ripped with the layer-break restored, they run perfectly. Any suggestions much appreciated... other than "re-rip all of your discs". That wouldn't be appreciated at all! Cheers, DH. PS. I don't consider this a "bug", because it's my own fault that I removed the layer-breaks. All the same, I could use some help... |

RE: [A-110] Firmware Version : 01-17-090201-15-POP-403-000

I did the update. No problem at all. my movies are playing, my music, my playlists, everything is playing as it should be. ps : in webservices, internet radio : PERFECT, plays wonderful, fast !! only thing what is strange. My popcorn can receive the update. If my brother tries to update he gets the message : request could not be done or something...it is like he can't reach the server. His ip, dns are all okey. I did his first update at my place when I bought those 2 devices... any idea? RE: [A-110] Firmware Version : 01-17-090201-15-POP-403-000
On the latest and previous firmware update in the release notes it states that there is no NMT apps, still previous 00-17-090115-15-POP-403. Do I have to download another file to install the NMT apps?
I just bought a new unit on Friday and I don't know what that means. I will install a Sata internal HDD and use the PCH for torrent download, is the new firmware capable for this operation? Any good Sata drives to recomend? |

Nmt apps just stay like they were.
just go to update firmware, do the update, after reboot just new firmware and internet radio in webservices. works good over here.
