MKV Not Working
Anyone have any idea why i cannot get 1 single .mkv video file to work? I have tried at least 30 different movies all .mkv format and well in the limitations of the PCH. I have used mkvmerge to mux the mkv and still it will not play. When i click to view the movie it will kick back to the list of other movies and search for a signal a couple times. The absolute only way i have been able to get any of them to work is to extract the video and audio file from the .mkv first and then add them back in using m2ts or ts formats. If anyone wants a mediainfo breakdown of some of the movies let me know.

RE: MKV Not Working
sounds very strange.

1. first remember to allways make a reboot to clear memory/processlocks after a failed playback before attempting the next playback - or other files may also fail making it seem like noone works. A softreboot pressing "red powerbutton" followed by "usb eject" will be enough.

2. Are you connected with HDMI ? if so - could you check your video settings on the PCH and make sure its not accidently set to component ?

Living room: C200/A200/A100 HDMI to Pioneer KURO KRP-500A plasma / Denon AVR 3808 / KEF 5005.2 / B&W DM685
Kids room: C200/A110 HDMI to Panasonic 42PZ85, Optical to Logitech Z5500.

I have tried all of the above with no luck. Yes i am connected to HDMI and i have tried the different HDMI setting available in the pch menu. Should I send it out for repair or replacement?

I would like to add that I have only tested playing these files on the 1.5 TB Seagate HDD installed on the pch.

I dont think so, atleast not yet - if the same videos work in m2ts and ts then its not likely a hardware error on the PCH

The PCH has 2 mediaplayers, one that plays DVD and another that plays all single file formats, like avi - mkv - ts etc.
If theres a hardware error it would effect playback of all formats for the given player - like all single file formats if its in the section using that media player.

must be something else.

could you post a media info report from one of the mkv that doesnt play ?

Writing application : mkvmerge v2.2.0

Could you try downloading latest mkvmerge build and remux to a new mkv ?
The mkvmerge version 2.2.0 had some errors breaking dxva compatibility sometimes causing playback to fail on dxva devices.

Issue solved! Since most of my movies were downloaded via torrents i simply rehashed the files and found that most had missing parts that somehow didn't finish downloading. After that everything for the most part is working.

Sorry for being a noob, how do you "rehash" the files?? or even remux??

RE: MKV Not Working
Use the WIKI, search results for 'remux':-
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...emux&go=Go

5th one down explains remuxing an MKV.

As far as the OP looks like he was attempting to play a file that hadn't finished downloading, perhaps via llink.
