File Hosting
Probably been asked before (but I couldn't find it), but is there a reason files are not hosted on this site?
If you root and dig into threads, you can find many handy binaries and scripts that are all hosted off site. Major projects might be best served elsewhere but I know you can set upload caps, if you so wish. Some people have little tools but no real place to host them. It would also put the small stuff, all in one place. NMT possibly does not want to host non-supported stuff? Anyway, just asking. Nothing major but would be nice. |

RE: File Hosting
The files on that site are way bigger then what I'm talking about. I mean little stuff. I found the following in different threads;
1) nano 2) screen 3) cpuinfo 4) lsof 5) several handy scripts eg. one to umount USB drives. I know there are many more but I haven't found them yet or I didn't feel I would use it. |

RE: File Hosting
Well, this wiki entry helps a lot.
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...ities#file It keeps things all in one place and easier to find. I had not noticed it before. |

RE: File Hosting
For smaller binaries I guess the wiki could be used, but it is currently limited for file name extensions and a whooping 64 MB capped size - which is a lot more than most KB sized NMT binaries!

RE: File Hosting
Look at guys, this is not a big deal, one way or another. The wiki entry is a really big help. It puts things all in one place.
This is my one concern. These files are all being hosted off site. Most of this is really small stuff but at some time, the URLs to the files will go dead. It would be really nice if they could be hosted here and for some stuff I found, the files were not hosted at all. The creater did not have a hosting location and needed to email you the the files. You guys chew on it for a bit. Just a suggestion. |
