[AUDIO] No Sound with .mp4 files
Hello all,

I recently downloaden some "files" in fullhd with dts sound . The file is an .mp4 file. I've tried to remux it with mkvmerge to .mkv but even then I got no sound . Also upgraded with latest firmware, but still nothing.

I am a noob at this in case I say something stupid.
Anyone who has a solution for this issue?

RE: No Sound with .mp4 files
Probably AAC audio, and your sound output device does not decode it.

Under SETUP / AUDIO/VIDEO, try changing your audio settings for AAC to analog.

Media tank:A-100 & C-200
TV:Panasonic TH-50PY800MT (HDMI)
Audio:Logitech Z-5500 (Coaxial)

RE: No Sound with .mp4 files
Thnx, I'll try that.
So if I still want it to run with surroundsound, I would have to buy another receiver?
Or is there an easy way to convert it to dts,or DD5.1?

RE: No Sound with .mp4 files
the .mp4 container do not support dts audio - so remuxing it to .mkv was the correct thing todo

Now if you dont get sound from the mkv with DTS then you either have the DTS setting to RAW but havent connected it to a device that can decode DTS or you havent selected the NMT to decode it by setting DTS audio to PCM, or you dont have a Popcorn A-110 which is the only one that can decode DTS itself.

If it is AAC or DTS audio you can also convert it to AC3 with Heartwares audio converter

So tell us more
What is it connected to and how
What are the audio settings you have chosen in setup
And finally post a mediainfo report of the mkv file

http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net

Living room: C200/A200/A100 HDMI to Pioneer KURO KRP-500A plasma / Denon AVR 3808 / KEF 5005.2 / B&W DM685
Kids room: C200/A110 HDMI to Panasonic 42PZ85, Optical to Logitech Z5500.

PLEASE READ THE WIKI

RE: No Sound with .mp4 files
I have a PCH A-110 this is connected with optical cable to a sony dts capable receiver.
On the PCH all audio settings are configured to RAW.
I have no problems with other files that have DTS ,DD5.1, AC3
I'm now at work , so cannot post any mediainfo right now Smile

I think I'll have to convert the audio track to ac3 , like you said.
Aha I just connected to my pc remotely and installed Mediainfo.
Here is the audio section:
Audio
ID/String : 2
Format : AAC
Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec
Format_Version : Version 4
Format_Profile : LC
Format_Settings_SBR/String : No
CodecID : A_AAC
Duration/String : 1h 58mn
Channel(s)/String : 6 channels
ChannelPositions : Front: L C R, Rear: L R, LFE
SamplingRate/String : 48.0 KHz
Resolution/String : 16 bits

Like you thought, it's AAC.
I'll try to convert it when I'm @home.
Thanks again for your support.

Hard me to understand, i'd like just to see a file that i bought (not stolen), on a box i bought (not invented myself). For just watching this movie i need to read articles, download software demux/remux/repair. Unbelievable.

But thanx anyway, finally i saw this movie.
