file copy feedback
As many of you, I am slowly working in the copy of a large collection of DVDs into the internal HD of the PCH.
I usually do it with the PCH usb-connected to a computer, and - as I expected - I often receive during the copy error messages (input/output error): many DVDs are quite old. In some occasions I copied many DVDs from an external DVD reader, usb-connected directly to the PCH, using the filemode in the remote control (i.e. the basic file capabilities of the PCH). Strangely enough, I never received errors during those copies - statistically very improbable. I am asking you: if an error occurs during a file operation, the PCH reports it somewhere? It is important for me to know it, since if I get a partial transfer I dont want to store that file... thanks for any help alessandro |

RE: file copy feedback
I had the same problem. It is not the the PCH fault it is the PC. I had the same error when I was copying my movie collection. When you get the error Google it, you will find a solution on Microsoft site.

RE: file copy feedback
mmmmmmm, thank you but no, I think we are discussing 2 different things:
the error I get is very typical, independent from the fact that you are copying to a PCH or to anything else: it is just the error due to the presence of some bad sectors on the DVD, a fact that doesnt allow the copy process to terminate correctly. What I'd like is to be able to see it, IF this error happens - even during a copy managed by the PCH. alessandro |
