Connecting PCH to XBOX360 as Portable USB Storage Device?

Hey All-

Been tweaking the PCH with YAMJ and what-not to get a solid little HD video player but I'm trying to improve the music listening experience on the device. The PCH happens to be situated next to my XBOX360 and houses my mp3 collection via an internal HDD. I can't seem to get the PCH device to be recognized by the XBOX360 as a Portable Storage Device. Any ideas?

I assume this is an A-110? Do you have telnet installed/running?

Yes, I have a telnet running. I'd like to retain the media player functions of the NMT but access the music library on it (when playing games as an example).

i dont think the xbox360 will read EXT3 formatted HDD in the PCH nor will it connect to its Upnp server, i think the xbox 360 is a no go at the moment, unless someone has or will make a media server addon that supports the 360

chrisballuk probably has a valid point. I have no idea about the xbox and it's abilities but it would need some method of reading the ext2/3 file system.

I asked about telnet because NMTs won't slave themselves with telnet running. The easiest way I've found to fix this;

1) connect the NMT (via the slave port) to the master device (computer, xbox, whatever)
2) telnet to the NMT and on the command line, type "killall telnetd"

The 360 will only recognize a hdd that is FAT23 formatted. Nothing more, nothing less. FAT23 formatting has a file size limit too, but it's nothing that single MP3 files would exceed.

No - as allready informed in this thread the xbox360 do not read the filesystem on the PCH
The xbox360 only read fat32 partitions, not the ext3 partition which the PCH have.

I don't know if this will be of any help, but the Xbox 360 doesnt just read Fat32.
I've had good results with creating a HSF+ (mac) partition on an HDD. Apparantly the 360 CAN read HSF+, but not NTFS.

Whomever came up with that brilliant feature at Microsoft must have had a neuron crossed or something.
