Llink
As a virtual novice to NMT and having had a very rocky start, I need the advise of some experts.

When I first purchased my NMT (used) it had Llink installed. I love this app as it allowed me to play .rar files without having to unrar them. This was great for me as I can only connect to the NMT via a wireless network (my PC is at the other end of the house - too far for hard wire connection)and so FTP to the NMT is VERY slow. I had therefore taken to downloading torrents directly to the NMT via Transmission (which again worked well).

However the NMT crapped itself and I eventually had to send away for a replacement mainboard.

Got it back and all seems OK however - no Llink was visable - I have to perform a reformat and installation of firmware from scratch after getting the main board back).

So I have tried to reinstall Transmission and Llink via the NMT Community Software Installer.

However, although I am told that both Transmission and LLink are installed (and I can see them if I browse to the APP folder) how on earth do I execute them so they operate as they did prior to main board crash?

Id also be very interested to know if there is a way I can unrar file on the NMT so as to read the .iso directly?

Thanks in advance for any help I'm offered.

RE: Llink
Hello there. If CSI installs llink the way it should, you should be able to push the Source button, and it will turn up there. Possibly needing a reboot, but I assume you have already checked. For any CSI app to start, you need to enable FTP services in the NMT setup menus, as it is all hanging off there.

I also wrote librarcy which lets you stream from rar from NMT gui, but it is still in testing..

RE: Llink
And if you want to change skins and other llink config settings you need to edit the llink.conf file. Not sure where it resides from a CSI installation, but i guess something like /share/Apps/llink/llink.conf

Open via telnet and use vi or map your NMT to your PC/Mac and open the llink.conf file with your favourite editor (be it Notepad++, Smultron etc.)

Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn.

Sorry Gents, thanks for the replies but already a little too advanced for me. I like to think I have some clue, but I have been unable to clean the info from other posts on the topic as they have been too advanced for my dump head.

Any chance of an idiots walk through guide?

RE: Llink
Look up the custom software installer on the forum, basically installs the applications you want.

Samsung PS51d8000, Onkyo 509, Tannoy EFX5.1, Xbox 360, Popcornhour C200, Sky+HD, Wii, Harmony one

Thanks, but that's what I used and I can't seem to access the applications following install.

I guess all I want to know is having installed Llink on the NMT how on earth do I run it so I can view rar.ed file just as I used to - there has to be a simple method?

I've rebooted the NMT numerous times and I am not seeing Llink as a source at all although I do now see Transmission and that appears to be working OK.

Any ideas what I can do - this is annoying the shit out of me now - it's been about a month since I've been able to use this thing - if I can figure it out soon I'll just get rid of it on eBay and write it off as a waste of time - it just seems so flakey.

RE: Llink
Open the App folder via your (I'm going to assume Windows?) PC;

Assuming you run Windows:
1. map a share (N:\ or whatever) from your PC to the NMT via Explorer.
2. Browse to Apps\llink\ and look for the file llink.conf
3. Open llink.conf with Notepad. Inside this conf file there are explanations of what to change, for instance setting it to auto-expand iso files, if that's what you want.

Remember to save the changes of llink.conf and reboot your NMT.

Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn.

RE: Llink
If Transmission starts, that would imply that FTP service is enabled, and our custom start script is launched, but perhaps llink fails to start for some other reason.

Don't take out your frustration on NMT though, don't forget we hacked the crap out of it, to do things it wasn't supposed to do Smile We don't always get it right (especially since we have to force it in there with a hammer.).

I would suggest you install telnetd on NMT using CSI, then type (Use Start->Run in windows):

Code:
telnet ip-of-your-nmt
cd /share
cd Apps
cd llink
./start_llink.sh -d -v 60

I'll give it a go. As well as CSI I've now tried a manul install via hardrive (ftp file across) and via USB - no joy with either. All looks OK, ensure permisssion are OK - initially runs then I receive an error message about something not being present (at the poin t Llink tries to start). If I try to install after this I get a message saying the .gz file is corrupt???

I'm tying an install via CSI again and then I'll try the telnet plan.
OK after telneting and following you instructions, this is what I get:

ifconfig: eth0:1 error fetching interface information: Device not found
ifconfig: SIOCSIFADDR: No such device

May as well be in chinese to me, make any sence to you?

RE: Llink
Your pch has no network connection. It needs a network connection present. So llink can broadcast itself to the nmt I think.

That makes no sense at all as the NMT DOES have a network connection - that's how I am able to install Llink. I can FTP to it, I can install via CSI and when using transmission application I can view NMT from my PC.

Any other ideas people?????
