RE: Firmware Update Tip
I just solved my own problem.
I downloaded the latest firmware. Then I renamed the 02-01-091113-19-POP-408.bin file to recovery-image.bin and stuck it on a USB stick. When I did method #2 using the jumper and this USB stick, my C-200 came back from the dead AND now has the latest firmware too!! I hope this may help others stuck like I was. Cheers! |

RE: Firmware Update Tip
Hi everyone, I'm trying to update to the newest C200 firmware and I'm constantly getting ERR006. Any idea what this error code means?
I'm doing the update with the same USB stick as I did all my other A110 and a recent C200 update. I also re-downloaded the firmware 3 times. Waiting for more than an hour didn't help either (I didn't expect it would but I had to try everything). After a reboot everything is as it was before. Am I missing something? Thanks for any advice! Anyway, I hooked it up, did DHCP for IP address, and when I go to update firmware, my TV screen goes black. It's been like that for about 30 minutes. There is no status on the PCH blue display? any ideas? --h |

RE: Firmware Update Tip
(11-24-2009 03:43 AM)p@ul Wrote: I get this error as well. Not sure if this only works for me but I solved the problem on my C-200: 1. I let the 02-01-091008-19-POP-408-000 update run once again. No visible change. New update still didn't work ![]() 2. after unzipping the new 02-01-091113-19-POP-408-000 firmware the appendix "folder" was added to name of the folder. I noticed this didn't happen with the 02-01-091008-19-POP-408-000 firmware (which worked). Try deleting it so u get "02-01-091113-19-POP-408-000" and run the usbupdate.html file. 3. I also exchanged the apps.nmt file with the one from 02-01-091008-19-POP-408-000. Not sure this has any influence as the files seem to be identical (are they?). Stupidly I made changes 2 & 3 at once (lost my nerves after 10 reboots) so I'm not sure what solved the problem. Try renaming the folder first and see if it helps! Now my C-200 runs the new firmware and the annoying audio delay with optical output seems to be gone

RE: Firmware Update Tip
You should not have your firmware or NMT Apps file in any folder. That will cause the firmware to not be found and therefore updated.
You HAVE to have the files themselves in the ROOT of the USB stick. No folder in sight. A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

RE: Firmware Update Tip
HI all!
Have my shiny new C-200 with me now (Nov 2009 batch), but I can't get the firmware upgrade to work. Both the networked and USB route are simply giving me a black screen as soon as I click update. What's happening. I've been waiting over 15 minutes now. Last time I just had to power off and it came back in the same state as before. Not happy ![]() What SHOULD happen when hitting Update? Any screen shots? I've tried playing around with the TV Mode to no avail. It's just stuck on a black screen. |

RE: Firmware Update Tip
Hi!
I've got the same problem. Got mine today, firmware was 02-01-090907-19-POP-408-507, downloaded the 02-01-091113-19-POP-408-000.zip and extracted all files tothe root on a USB drive (LaCie 500GB with NTFS), selected the drive, then the usbupdate.html, selected the 02-01-091113-19-POP-408-000.bin (or whatever was displayed), the screen turned black and 1 hour later it was still stuck on a black screen without any messages. Powercycled the box and it came up with the original shipped firmware. |

RE: Firmware Update Tip
I turned mine off and on again and was ok (but not updated). I'm now running through the NMT Setup Wizard, as I'm wondering if once this is complete (and my HDD configured) it'll help.
I think a HDD might be required for the firmware to install? Not impressed at all so far. Some warning messages at least would be nice. I'm not a novice. I work in technology for a living and this is frustrating to say the least.... Nope, same problem. What are we SUPPOSED to see when clicking ACCEPT/UPGRADE? All I ever get is a black screen.... |

RE: Firmware Update Tip
Success!! Moved the files to a 1GB FAT USB Stick and the update ran as expected. You get a blue (!) screen with a rotating wheel and relevant info on the progress.

RE: Firmware Update Tip
Well done. I'm trying on an external HD now rather than mem stick.
Black screen and waiting.... How long did it take you>? |

RE: Firmware Update Tip
Once I copied it to the usb stick, and plugged the stick into the USB port on the front of the unit, it took maybe 5-10 minutes, closer to 5.
Have you tried re-downloading the firmware? maybe a corrupt file. Also, may want to see if you can revert the firmware? I know this is stupid, but have you tried unplugging it for a few minutes. --handsomedrave |
