New plugin: IMDB Light

Yeah. I read the request too And started on it a while ago. The whole search script is finished, I only need to pour it into a layout...
If I only had some more spare time...

Hmmm i'm not sure how we could make it work...

But i was wondering if there was a way for this plugin to read a file or something and determine where the 'home' button takes you.

Essentially i'm trying to think of a easy way for a user to get back to their jukebox if they browse around a few of your imdb pages.

If they just view one page its not a problem because the back button takes them back to the jukebox. But say they go into christian bale's page, and then to one of his movies, and then to some other actor's page in that movie. At that point we don't really have a way to get back to the jukebox without hitting the source button and going into the jukebox after selecting the source.

So i was wondering if there was some way we could host a config file locally on our Popcornhour....or if we could fill something out on your website, so that from any of your pages we could hit the home button, or the menu button or what ever button, and have it take us back where ever we want it to go (most likely our jukebox).

make sense? Got any ideas?

I would suggest that we just agree on an easier solution. We could say that when you link to my plugin, you add a new GET variable which is the urlencoded url to the backbutton in my plugin should lead to. E.g. http://nmt.mcdvd.dk/imdb/index.php?type=...ehtml.html

Couldn't that be usefull?

Hello allanmc,

Just make a simple external javascript the sets the return url ... You can create it Allanmc and store it on the pch if the user wants to return to a jukebox just have them update the external javascript code all done ... You can set it to anything you want Allanmc by default ...

hmmm i can probably just add it to the href too, that should work, i hadn't thought of that.

so what button would that be mapped to?

At first i was thinking the back button.... but then that button is kinda usefull when you just went in and looked at one page. Maybe the home button?

Home button is fine

It should be working now. If you start a session of my IMDB Plugin with e.g. the before mentioned url:
http://nmt.mcdvd.dk/imdb/index.php?type=...ehtml.html

Then all pages of my plugin will have the following a-element at the buttom:

It's using sessions/cookies, so i hope that's suported
