You can have an internal and still use the usb just fine. Or even get a usb hub and keep them all plugged in. I think the huge thread was already posted. that playing from usb need an internal disc for the extra buffer.

tried sticking in an internal hdd and updated to the latest fw (june) but the problem still exists when trying to play from my ext hdd.

is there any special steps needed to be done in order to get the internal hdd to help for the buffering?

There is no manual process, no.

Have you installed the NMT applications on the internal HDD?

i don't have the manual with me but found the instructions already. i'm now clearing up one of my hdd so that it can be formatted and install the nmt. the one i put in earlier have a lot of data without the nmt installation, sorry for my mistake.

will give updates later when it's done.

Managed to install the HDD and NMT apps to the PCH but given that my A-100 is at the shop now, I tested on my A-110 which has the same problem with stuttering.

The files are now playing smoothly, some problem when fast forwarding though but I think I can live with that. Tested watching 1 full movie but no sign of heat problem yet.

Will test with my A-100 when I get it back from the shop and able to find a cheap IDE HDD.
