Audio, but no Video (but the info screen shows up!)

Hi,

I received my 110 box a few weeks ago and it's been working pretty well (jumpy video when connected to the NAS, but that's a different issue). However, this afternoon I went to play a 720p clip that's worked in the past and I'm only getting the audio and none of the video.

I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with my TV since the PCH menu screens work fine and when I'm watching the black screen on the TV (while playing the video), I can hit the info button and see all the bit rates and other info that PCH will show you. I am *not* running the PCH in Auto video mode.

Currently, my 110 is connected to my TV via HDMI (1080p) with an Onkyo receiver between the two.

I'm running the latest FW (00-17-090115-15-POP-403...which has worked fine for several weeks now)and I have a 1TB HDD in the 110.

I've tried hard booting the device (power switch on the back side), going back to factory defaults, re-installing the SW, and trying to play SD content vs. HD content. No luck so far. I saw an old thread where someone had the same problem and they said to go to the setup -> Maintenance window and clear the cache. *edit* I found the clear cache option on my 110 and that didn't solve the problems. *edit*

Any suggestions?

My first suggestion is to bypass the receiver and plug directly from the A110 to the TV.

Next I'd look at that 720p clip. Some poorly built mkv files seem to put the PCH in a weird mode such that subsequent files fail to play. Power cycling the PCH (or hard reset) cures it.

Hmm.. The video played before and I've also tried other video's as well (different type of video after each hard reboot).

I tried bypassing the receiver and I get the same result. I didn't expect this to work, since I'm am able to get the info screen to pop up from PCH while the video is supposedly playing, so it's not a video issue, it's an internal SW/FW issue in the PCH itself.

You are a genius!! That was the problem!

But, that brings up two other questions:

1) What is the default Contrast, Brightness, and Hue values? I'm guessing 50%, but I'm not for sure.

2) What causes the machine to not 'reboot' properly? I looked around and there isn't a normal /var/log/messages that I'd normally check on a *nix box.

50 is the default setting.
