How to see Ext3 usb2 drive Via other PC?

the Usb2 drive is connected to the Istar H5.1, all the files viewable
my Laptop has Vista on it, connected through Lan to the NMT
now on "my networks" i can see the "SMP 8634" but i can't see what's in it
i only recieved an IP from the NMT no server was configed so far

maybe i miss some driver? i saw that there's something called "SAMBA" plugin that can be downoaded from the Official site.
but not sure it's the thing

You need to install the NMT Apps on your internal HDD. This will also format the HDD to Ext. Then turn ON the SMB server that is installed.
If you have no internal HDD then you won't see it im afraid unless you do an alternative NMT Apps instllation:-

ahmm challenging after figuring out how to use UBUNTU Seedbox, and Dreambox now comes the linux based NMT
looks like i will transfer 1 of my internal PC hard drives to the NMT eventually

Yep beyond my skills as well, it's marked Hard for Difficulty but for me it should be impossible

Consider a small CF card and adapter if you have no internal storage requirements and just need the NMT Apps:-

it just too many things to do, just for the USB to be seen.

1. formating to EXT3
2. installing Telnet on the NMT (it's comes naked)
3. installing the aps VIA telnet
4. using one of the apps to communicate with the USB?

i'm out of this.
i will pass 30Meter cable over my apartment and will make server conncetion

You can avoid all that with a $5 CF card adapter and $10 CF card:-
