With the new firmware, some ISO files won't play
Anyone else having issues with playing ISO files after the last firmware update? I didn't have this problem before but now only some ISO files won't play. I've noticed that the ones that won't play start at a menu, meaning you have to select Play to go on....ISO files that just start playing don't have this issue. With the new firmware, I get the screen that says buffering......and it never changes. I have to hit RETURN or HOME and go back to my list. Any ideas?

Check if the ISO plays if you set output to 480 in video resolution. If it does then its a bug.

RE: With the new firmware, some ISO files won't play
Ok, the ISO didn't play at 480 either. That said, If I reboot the pch, it will sometimes play the file, but only if I don't try to play another format first. I'm not sure what is going on but sometimes after playing a file, then trying to play another format, it won't. For example, mkv file plays fine, then try a TS or ISO, no go. I get one of two screens. I either see the Movie looking splash screen that says, be sure to backup your hard drive.....and that screen never goes away, ever. I have to hit STOP to get it to go back, or reboot. The other screen is the it takes me right back to my list of movies, meaning the screen goes blank for a second, then just returns me to the list screen. If I reboot, I can then play the same TS file. I didn't have this issue before the last firmware update.
Any ideas? |

If it is PAL try 576 aswell.
Anyway it is a bug I sufferred myself last night when trying to play a video_ts folder. Played fine after a reboot but would not play before. Next firmware should have some DVD playback fixes I hear.

Get we get something done about this thread too on this upcoming firmware? I (and many others) have had zero responses from PCH about it.
It sounds like a similar problem....http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...356&page=1 Thanks!!

RE: With the new firmware, some ISO files won't play
That doesn't sound like the same issue as a reboot usually helps.
Have you tried just unpacking one of the ISO's and playing the video_ts folder to see if that plays? A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

AVI and mkv plays great as before. But even img/iso files that have been playable before and that I do try to start now. Don´t work :/ Popcorn Hour A-110 HDMI Connected , 500GB S-ATA Sony KDL-46w4500 |

RE: With the new firmware, some ISO files won't play
It may be exactly the same sympton in that you do not get the ISO to play but it is not the same problem as a reboot fixes the issue for the thread starter.
It doesn't matter one iota to me whether or not you have the same or a different problem I am just trying to avoid the situation where the bug is fixed and you still have problems as it was not the same problem. Have you tried changing the NMT video output to 480 (NTSC) or 576(PAL) before playback? I am told that DVD playback is getting resource thrown at it, remember that the WDTV has lost a lot of the intial 'buzz' due to poor DVD playback and also the other players aswell, so it is certainly an area where PCH need to take notice and get it 100% right!
