A-110 Loosing audio and video juddery
Sorry if this has been covered else where I have searched but not found anything.

I have connected my A-110 to an AV amp which has the capability to play pretty much every audio format known.

But when I am playing some straight Blu-Ray rips (done using TSMuxer to remove unwanted audio and video) I may get sound for a couple of seconds then the sound is lost and at the same time the picture then starts to judder.

It looks to me like some sort of HDMI handshake issue, but I may be wrong.

Any ideas?

You do not give us much to go on?

Can you run the file through mediainfo and post the text output.
How are you playing the file, from where, with what etc.
What settings have you selected for your video output and autorefreshrate.
Have you tried turning OFF autoframerate and setting output resolution to match the source?

Yeh, sorry for the lack of info, when I get home I'll post the media info

I've not got auto framerate set, video output set at 720p.

I'll try setting output resolution to 1080p and report back.

RE: A-110 Loosing audio and video juddery
For the picture to appear and audio to play even if only for a few seconds leads me to think it is not HDMI handshake related and more likely to be either file or transfer methos related.

If you are playing from a HDD then its not transfer method and more likely file related.

Mediainfo will tell you all you need to know about the file, please install it and run the file through to find the spec:-

RE: A-110 Loosing audio and video juddery
I'm having kind of the same problem Puma. Picture is always smooth, but the audio drops out just for a second. If I play it on my PC it works prefect. It was mostly with 5.1 level video's, so I thought it was my PCH not being able to handle the video. But I also have a few 4.1 video with low bitrate where the same thing happens.

RE: A-110 Loosing audio and video juddery
Don't get hang up on L4.1 and L5.1 as it is very easy to change a header to read L4.1 when the spec is L5.1 and vice versa.

You may have a similar sympton but it is not the same as you start with the picture is smooth which it is not for puma. Please start a thread for an examination of possible causes and advice as we need detailed info to give the best help which cannot be done at the same time to two people.

edit
Answered in your own thread file was 50,000mb/s vbr and b-frames of 4 both exceed L4.1 spec.

Yep it must be transfer related as when I copy the file to the internal hard drive it plays fine.

I'm using a NAS and mapping a share to it from the PCH, what is this about HTTP shares?
