Newest firmware cause heat problem
Hi, can it be true the new firmware from June 2009, cause heat problems, because mine can play 720p for 20 min and then the display starts to flicker...
And if i touch the heatsink its extremly hot. Thomas |

RE: Newest firmware cause heat problem
No.
Look elswhere what is new part from the firmware, the file? Network, server, etc. Heatsinks are supposed to get hot. A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

RE: Newest firmware cause heat problem
What about the encoding quality of the 720p files?
Does it apply to all files or some? If you introduce cooling, does the problem re-occur or stop? External fan, ice clamps*, whatever you have at hand. If it really is firmware related (which I doubt, but I've learned to never take too much for granted...) then a downgrade of firmware would essentially rid the problem, following that logic. * Err.... watch out for water condensation
