Multi-Channel (5.1) FLAC
I'm looking for a decent format to convert my lossless TrueHD and DTS-HD MA tracks to and I think that 5.1 FLAC is the best option on the horizon. LPCM or WAV is possible but we're talking a pretty big hit to the filesize (as in at least 4GB per movie).
Is Multi-Channel FLAC on the official Syabas roadmap and if so is there any eta on when this might get added? Not looking for an exact date, but more curious if it will be in the next few months vs. next few years (or never). Thanks. -Dave |

Thanks, Epi. I had seen that thread previously but there wasn't any real "official" information in there. Right now I'm going to just stick with hi bitrate DTS until there is some sort of compressed lossless audio support. I'm archiving all my lossless tracks and will remux them when the PCH supports it.

Yeah I am only going to be doing a handful of ES 1080p LPCM movies and just keeping mostly 720p/1080p AC3/DTS MKV. I will do the DTS-MA/TrueHD -> LPCM until 5.1 FLAC -> 5.1 LPCM. Not yet though. This is hopefully my last week with SPDIF. Gotta Sony DG720 HDMI coming soon. 8) Sharp Aquos (46D64U) PCH A-100 Buffalo Link Theater Sony STR-DG720 |

How do you convert dts-hd/true-hd to LPCM and packaged them so NMT players can play?
i am currently using eac3to and when I converted to pcm, but muxers can't recognize the stream which prevents to remux to either mkv or m2ts container.. |

I got this idea from demuxing a Blu-Ray m2ts using tsmuxer and it saved the LPCM stream as wav. I'm assuming this will work, though I haven't tried it myself yet. -Dave |

LPCM is freakin' loud. Now I see why people like HD audio. It's going to be included in my BluRay ES guide using Eac3to_And_More_GUI. + tsMuxeR. Uber easy. 8) Sharp Aquos (46D64U) PCH A-100 Buffalo Link Theater Sony STR-DG720 |

RE: Multi-Channel (5.1) FLAC
Yes, you can try ClownBD to automate it fully...
For conversion -> LPCM there was previously a bug in EAC3TO where you need to convert file to WAV, then from WAV to W64, which then remuxes succesfully with TSMUXER. This is how ClownBD is currently doing things. Cheers, -jj- |
