DTS to AC3 via HDMI
In the earlier post I had a problem wherein I wanted to listen to sound of DTS mkv file through my Plasma as I did not have a receiver. This was solved as I updated the firmware for A-110 and now can down DTS to 2 Channel Stereo.

Now this 2 channel is not that clear so it is possible to down DTS to AC3 automatically in Popcorn hour using any new firmware update.

Thank you.....

RE: DTS to AC3 via HDMI
No thats not possible, and even if it were it would not make it any different.
Check that you have set HDMI audio to stereo and not surround - if its set to surround it will sound unclear

RE: DTS to AC3 via HDMI
Ok.... so here is what it is
I cannot here DTS through HDMI on my Plasma so I have two options:
Convert the DTS to AC3 and remux the MKV file
Let the DTS be there and use the Popcorn hour to output the 2 Channel...

So you are saying that in both the above cases ,converting to AC3 or listening the 2 Channel, would be same and no difference?

RE: DTS to AC3 via HDMI
Yes
You plasma do not support neither DTS nor AC3 - it only support analog stereo - so it makes no difference if the audio track is DTS or AC3, or DTS that get converted to AC3 - in every way it still has to end up being decoded to analog stereo or you cannot hear anything on your plasma.
Therefore in the Audio settings set everything to Analog instead of RAW - and like I said remember to set "surround mode" to stereo instead of "5.1"
