PCH a110 & synology ds409+ playing ISO files
Hi there.
I have a Popcorn Hour A110 and a Synology DS409+ NAS device. I wish to be able to play my DVD's as ISO files from the NAS device, but I can't seem to get it to work. Can anyone help me with some info regarding the setup? Is it possible with my current hardware? |

Have you setup your shares with NFS or SMB?
You should be able to use either one. Please elaborate on your problem; what do you mean by "can't seem to get it to work"? - Describe how you get to the error and how the error appears! - What is your firmware version on your NMT? Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. Wiki. Wiki? Wiki! |

Thank you for your fast reply. I'm sorry for my brief expenation.
Both units have the latest firmware. I have at the moment uPnP enabled, but I think I need to disable this. I'm not sure how to setup the system for SMB or NFS. What would you recommend? |

ISO can't play over UPnP (at least not with current standards).
SMB should be easier to setup, so start with that. On the Syno: go to admin pages; add a user ("popcorn") and password (for example "A-110", note: case sensistive) and then assign this user permissions to read the shares where you have the media, for instance /volume1/video Then go to your NMT; Settings -> Network Share and add smb://192.168.1.10/video, with user popcorn and pass A-110. Or use the Network Browser. Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. Wiki. Wiki? Wiki! |

Well, I might have been a bit basic describing the steps, but yeah, that should be it.
Let us know how it works out! Audio, video, disco - I hear, I see, I learn. Wiki. Wiki? Wiki! |

RE: PCH a110 & synology ds409+ playing ISO files
That's how I have my Synology setup with just simple SMB shares to a video folder. Within that I split between SD/HD and then to each container before getting into TV series or film sets etc.
Just have my Windows login and password as a user on the Synology and also on the share on the NMT. Then let YAMJ jukebox catelogue and make it look flashy. Daily downloads is either to my PC or via RSS direct to the PCH internal HDD.
