I set it to scan the following..
/share/Video,/share/Movies,/share/Tv,/share/Complete,/share/Download,/share/Videos,/USB_DRIVE_A-1/Movies Oversight will scan the internal and some of the external USB drive but then stops, here is part of the log, is this the problem? awk: memory exhausted I cleaned out the PCH's cache and tried it several times but with no luck, I know a new version is said to address this but I was wondering why it would start to do it and then stop. Thanks |

Sure is. Send the logs if you can so I can get an idea of the volumes.

RE: Oversight- indexing of external USB Drive
Got it! My reply was
" The scanning script needs re-writing to less memory. This may be a while but I've raised it as an issue. In the mean time you get content in my changing you scan folders to a sub directory. do a scan, and then change to another folder and do a scan etc. It is all incremental so the results will build up." The problem is the scanning script loads all of the file details into memory. (Because it originally came from an incremental scan this was not an issue. But if I plan to support scans of n-Terabyte NAS then it probably needs looking at

My reply was Lordy, I d/l'ed the new beta version and did a clean install, ran the index on the USB external and it does the same thing, it missed movies and will stop indexing, I checked the log and it says the same, memory exhausted, it can do the internal no problem but 99 percent of my movies are on the external, also is there anyway to see some type of progress bar when it is indexing? Thanks |

There are some other things I can do to reduce the memory but it may be something else.. Oversight: Jukebox | FeedTime: Automatic nzbs |

RE: Oversight- indexing of external USB Drive
@bp001 - I suspect you have your AV connection in AUTO mode. You should select the mode most suitable for your connection (but not auto
). The next version of Oversight will give a clearer message about this. For more info against auto mode see...http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...p?tid=6906 and http://www.networkedmediatank.com/wiki/i...hp/TV_Mode Oversight: Jukebox | FeedTime: Automatic nzbs |
