Popcorn hangs on "Loading"
My popcorn hour hangs since today on the "Loading" screen. The remote doesn't do anything and resetting doesn't help either.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Dennis

RE: Popcorn hangs on "Loading"
Does the Loading icon disappear and you are left with a black screen?

Have you recently updated your firmware?

Have you tried the tvmode fix as firmware updates can cause video output resolutions to need to be saved again:-

This happens to me sometimes. It's usually my TV HDMI needing to re-handshake. I just change the TV to a different input then back to HDMI and it re-negotiates and all is well. I do wait a few minutes first to allow the pch to boot up. It's not a VCR that just turns on, it's a Linux computer that needs time to boot. Patience is needed here.

RE: Popcorn hangs on "Loading"
I would add that I've had more 'dead remote' moments with this firmware than the previous one...

... I did raise this in the Beta threads, but apparently nobody else has noticed a deterioration. Which made me wonder whether my A-110 was a bit flunky.

RE: Popcorn hangs on "Loading"
The handshake is a possibility but i do see the popcorn hour logo and the Loading text. Cant be the remote either since it just hangs. The firmware is a few months old and was a stable release. It was working perfectly until a few days ago.

Do you have internal harddrive or usb harddrive connected ?
If so, try and disconnect them

The loading screen is at one resolution and the next screen is at a different resolution so there is a need for another handshake.

RE: Popcorn hangs on "Loading"
I have the same problem. The phc worked flawles and since yesterday, it hangs when loading. No remote control and no picture.
I have got it to work once but that was only 1 time.
Desconected the harddisk but still the same.
Huh

RE: Popcorn hangs on "Loading"
Just to clarify, the 'dead remote' scenario that I'm talking about happens without video-handshake problems. I can be watching a rip, press STOP on the remote, come back out to either the default UI or YAMJ (it's happened with both...), and the remote won't work. I can't move the cursor, I can't put the unit into Standby, or anything at all. I need to press the Reset button on the front of the unit to resolve it.

Very odd. And very annoying!

RE: Popcorn hangs on "Loading"
If you are seeing the 'Loading' screen then change the output to composite or s-video.
Disconnect ethernet, HDD, anything USB and boot. Then after 5 mins try the tvmode wait '0' trick to recover.

If still nothing then to the Recovery Procedure. This should work as you have not lost all power as you get the Loading screen. Try both jumper on and off.
