How to shutdown the nmt via Windows.

Is there an easy way to shutdown the nmt remote, via Windows?

You could probably do this via Telnet if you are up with that kind of thing, but I wouldn't call that easy really... Although once setup I guess it'd be fairly simple.

If telnet is installed, telnet to the nmt and run "shutdown".

Yes the CSI has this option. It also has options t reboot from your PC and to add webservices etc.
There are also other tools such as USB HDD forced shutdown etc.

Very useful not just for apps.

"shutdown" is a command:

The CSI installs telnetd.

You can connect to the NMT via for instance Run.. cmd or perhaps better; using PuTTY on Windows, using telnet protocol.

Once you have connected to the NMT, you issue the command shutdown.


I don't know if the MediaTankController by Niels Leenheer or TouchEverything by guytp can do it to, but I wouldn't be surprised.
Search the wiki for more information about these apps, they are "soft remotes".

The current version CSI doesnot support shutdown of the PCH.
I have asked Ger, the developer of CSI, in this thread.
I have reported this as an issue on his issue / todo list. So maybe in the next release of this wonderful tool ..... .

The next version will have shutdown indeed. No ETA yet on the new version, waiting for one more translation to complete.
