USB keyboard, Num Lock issue
I´ve purchased a USB keyboard to my HDX-1000. I bought a mini-keyboard, a keyboard without the seperate num pad. But the num pad is built into the main section of the keyboard, like on most laptop-keyboards. When I plug it in num lock automatically is set to on-state, this causes the intergrated numpad to be active. How do I turn numlock off, because it can´t be turned off by the button on the keyboard? Its a real issue because when num lock is active i can´t use nearly the entire right half of the keyboard. Please help.
PS I don´t know if this is the right place for this thread, but I didn´t find a better place for it. |

RE: USB keyboard, Num Lock issue
Sorry, I can only offer poor theories.
If you have a normal USB keyabord you could try capture what keycode is pressed for Numlock on that one? But perhaps it's not even mapped? Although there is a CAPS/NUM key on the remote control I doubt it's the same as on the USB keyboard. Is it possible to attach this mini-keyboard to a normal PC and try to re-program it from there somehow? Have you tried contacting the keyboard manufacturer for advice? RE: USB keyboard, Num Lock issue
I think, but am not 100% sure, but i think this could be an issue of compatability with your keyboard and the NMT.
I have just tried 3 different USB keyboards in my HDX-900, and all operate default with NUM LOCK off (and the NUM LOCK key does NOT respond to presses) I would ask if you would try another USB keyboard and see if the behaviour of that keyboard is the same (ie, NUM LOCK defaults to ON) if they do not, i would think that it was simply an issue with compatability between that keyboard and your NMT unit. Sorry i couldnt give more positive help. There's no place like 127.0.0.1 Red - White - and - Murloc |

RE: USB keyboard, Num Lock issue
I say it's the keyboard, not the NMT
There must be a num lock button. Look for it, probably an Fn key. If you find it, press Fn and that button and it should work hope that helps

RE: USB keyboard, Num Lock issue
Ok, thas guys for the response. I tried with the minikeyboard and my keyboard to my computer, just to see if it is incompability issues. Same problem. But I found out that the minikeyboard remembers the num lock state even when disconnected. So what I did to solve this was to connect the minikb to my computer, set num lock to off, and then connect it back to the HDX. Now it works!
Thanks everyone! |
