RE: [myiHome|Index] SpeedDial NMT v1.9.0803 *UPDATE* August 3, 2009
a complete replacment is not possible.
the only thing that can be done is changing the images(_theme_) that makes up the standard gui but thats it really.

Wish it was different

First of all, great skin!
I use the index of RiChaDo on my NMT. However, the background does not fully cover the screen (two black bars at either side).
Any simple solution to widen the background, while keeping the icons centered?
Thanks in advance.

That's odd. Are you using a different background than the one included? Because if you are, then it's sort of designed that way. The reasoning get's a little technical.

Didn't change a thing (except the references in the index.htm). I tried to change the width values in the index.htm, but that just caused a black bar in the middle.

I know it's an odd request, but I'm more of a visual person ... is it possible if you can take a picture of your TV screen so I can see it? Keep in mind that I don't use the Index version, but I think I tested it out awhile back and it looked OK.

RE: [myiHome|Index] SpeedDial NMT v1.9.0803 *UPDATE* August 3, 2009
Not very good quality, but you can clearly see that the background (with the rounded edges) is centered in the middle of the screen. Around it a black border.

I have edited the brightness/contrast values so you can see it a little bit better.

Alright, yes. Unfortunately, by design, it's actually that way. For this particular skin, it actually doesn't have to be, but it was a decision I made. I know on the few TVs I've tested, the background gets dark enough that I don't even noticed the frame around it. Perhaps your TV's brightness is too high?

RE: [myiHome|Index] SpeedDial NMT v1.9.0803 *UPDATE* August 3, 2009
Well, it isn't too visible. But once you know, you'll see it. So there's no workaround for this (besides rebuilding the whole index)?
Thanks for the help.

Edit: Just noticed that MyiHome looks exactly the same (with the border). Guess this will have to do.

RE: [myiHome|Index] SpeedDial NMT v1.9.0803 *UPDATE* August 3, 2009
Ok so I'd like to use this setup with the Aeon Movie Wall.. I've decided that this setup is so nice that I've decided to dedicate a Lan cord to it so it can be constantly connected to MyIHome.. Before I start the process of installing this setup on my A-110 PCH I'd like to ask a few simple questions.

1) Does this skin support Standard Definition?

2) Does MyIHome have to constantly be running on my PC to use this skin?

3) Will The Aeon Movie Wall access movies from my Internal HDD or only movies networked from my PC?

4) Do I have to install YAMJ before attempting to add this skin and Aeon Movie Wall to my device?

1) Unfortunately, it's only HD at this time.

2) Well, yes. myiHome is a server, and the only way it'll work is if it's always running. It can be minimized down to the icon tray.

3) If you're using YAMJ/ÆON with myiHome, it only access folders that are added to the Plugin screen of myiHome (Edit > Preferences > Plugin). You can add your NMT's HDD to this list, but this would be an inefficient route to play movies and it might stutter.

4) You'll first have to install myiHome, then you install YAMJ to C:\Program Files\myiHome\plugin\moviejukebox, and then you put ÆON into C:\Program Files\myiHome\plugin\moviejukebox\skins.

You should note that there's an index version of SpeedDial. It can be run off of a thumb drive or on the NMT HDD itself. It sounds like you've been putting moves on the NMT HDD -- switching over to myiHome would sort of require you to put all the movies on your NMT HDD onto your computer's HDD. The only real reason to use myiHome is to get the extra bandwidth that HTTP has over SMB/NFS.

If you use the index version of SpeedDial, you can have it link to YAMJ (which can also be stored on the NMT's HDD). Then YAMJ on your NMT can link to the movies on your NMT and to movies over the network (SMB/NFS).

RE: [myiHome|Index] SpeedDial NMT v1.9.0803 *UPDATE* August 3, 2009
Hi everyone.

First off, i'd like to say thanks to the developers of these themes and YAMJ skins, since I think they look awesome, and greatly extend the value of the NMT with no added cost (and who doesn't want that?).

That being said, I'm having a difficult time understanding what works how. I've run YAMJ before, and built the index.html file that displays the jukebox. Now all I want to do from this point on, is either:

1. Integrate the SpeedDial main menu with YAMJ (so as to bypass the default NMT menu completely), OR

2. Change the entire default user interface with the Speed Dial theme.

Please note that all the media I want to use is located on the NMTs' internal drive (although connectivity with my home media extender would be cool).

What should I do?

Thanks, and sorry for the noob-ness level of my post!

First, welcome to the forum!

Second, aren't 1 and 2 the same thing..?

Unfortunately, there's no way to replace the default NMT menu with SpeedDial. The best you can do is use it as an index (make sure to get the Index version by RiChaDo and not the myiHome version). Then drop the index into one of the folders of your NMT. So when you turn on your NMT, you would navigate to that folder, and since it's an index.html, the skin should automatically start.

Maybe before you do that, you would edit the index.html and edit the "MOVIES" link so that it goes to the YAMJ index.html. This way, when you click on "MOVIES", it'll bring you to YAMJ.

Thanks for the reply! Well, not entirely the same, but I get what's going on now. I am currently using the SpeedDial theme along with YAMJ, I think they look awesome! If only I could find a way to properly sort (and navigate through) my oh so many local TV shows...
