iSkin - The YAMJ skin for iOS, Android, or any device with a web-kit based browser

iSkin brings YAMJ to your internet connected device with a web-kit based browser. Examples of such devices are the Applie iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, Android phones and tablets, or any computer that has either Google Chrome or Apple Safari installed.

Browse your videos on your device, touch the one you want, touch play, and it'll start playing on your NMT. Then use the integrated remote control screen to control playback.

  • Added FLASH compatiblity (for Series 3 NMTs, and Series 2 NMTs using NMJ or eVersion)

    • Flash compatibility (you can use iSkin with a Flash UI on your NMT, such as eVersion or NMJ)
    • support for eVersion zero-config, multi-mount shares
    • an internal HDD is no longer required (and neither is PLoNK)

  • Disable wrapping of long set titles, and add ellipsis when title is truncated
  • Set mjb.nbThumbnailsPerPage=20 (down from 10,000) in skin.properties. This controls the number of movies/sets initially loaded when you click on an index. If the index contains more than this many, the last link will be a "Load 20 more..." link to load the next set and add them in the list. This reduces memory usage and improves the load time and scrolling performance for long lists. You may change this value as you see fit for your own use.
  • Other minor fixes to keep up with recent versions of YAMJ

  • Improved iPad support
  • Improved web-kit based PC browser support
  • Added skin-doneURL to skin-options.xsl to configure what gets displayed by the NMT when a video stops playing.

Don't know which iPhone fw you are on gfb107, but on mine (v3) I get screenshots by pressing the big round button and the on/off-button simultaneously; then the screen flashes and the screenshot is placed in the Photo Roll. From there you can mail it or import it with iPhoto I suppose.

I just made iSkin-0.2 available. Enables iPhone's full-screen mode when iSkin is started from the Home Screen icon.

Wow, just ran this and it's awesome!

Jukebox browsed nicely on iPhone, and it played the movie.

I did find from within Sarari, the back button (in top left, e.g. "iSkin") took me out of the jukebox and back to the last page I browsed in Safari.

The back link did behave correctly when launched from a shortcut link created on home page (i.e. full screen mode).

For me the cast sub-menus don't line up properly. E.g. for X-Men: The Last Stand, there are nine cast members listed, but only five sub menus. The cast are lined up:

, Patrick Stewart,
Famke Janssen
, Anna Parquin, Kelsey Grammar,
James Marsden
, Rebecca Romijn

So something funny with the commars there.

But altogether it works brilliantly!

Yes. I have Cast and Director indexing turned on.

They both work great at the top level. I can click on "Alan Rickman" and vget the list of movies he's in. It's the cast links in the movie details that fail.

Actually what would work great is to have a cast and director section just like Genres section, with each name being a link to the (currently working fine) cast or director's list.

I unzip controller.zip to R:, the root of my NMT's internal hard drive. It created the controller subdirectory. I have tried to access it via Safari and Chrome using:

http://192.168.1.100:8088/stream/file=/o.../index.php

I get the following error:

Fatal error: Undefined class name 'mediatype' in /opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/HARD_DISK/controller/libraries/mediatypes.php on line 86

any help is appreciated. not sure what is going wrong. thanks

I think there's an error in the this line, you have to add an 's'

Finally I got it to work, .mkv files plays fine, but i can't seem to get iso files going, is there known issues with those file types?

Glad you figured that out. I'll make version 0.3 available later today with that fix, as well as a fix for cast indexing.

I haven't tried ISOs or VIDEO_TS. I know there's code in the controller for handling them. Could it be the mounting issue?
