I just install Chrome and tried iSkin2, on my PC I cannot see play button, so I use the on screen remote and I get this message on the Javascript console I get on A300

and on my A200 I get

All of that looks fine. I really need to see the results for the play button on the details page, not the on screen remote. When you say that you can't see the play button on your PC, is that just because the button is off-screen and you don't know how to scroll? You can scroll by dragging with the mouse.

I've found a problem with iSkin2 (preview 3). Many TV seasons show up with a blank page.
For example with Fringe, season 1 works okay. Seasons 2, 3 and 4 show a blank page.
I've found the issue is caused by newlines in the "plot". For example in season 4:

Truss finishes the cure just as the FBI and Fringe division surround the warehouse containing the lab. After being given the cure, Nadine attempts to fight off the agents, but appears to have dived into the water below. On recovering a body from the water, they realize that Nadine had taken the place of a fallen agent and has escaped their grasp. Nadine uses a Hermes 3000 typewriter stored in a locker at a Boston train station to type a report informing them of the success of Truss' cure; moments later, the typewriter, on its own, types out further instructions for her.

Walter, after trying to resolve his issues with Peter, returns to Fringe to inform Peter that he had two chances to save his son and let him down both times, he will not try to help again for fear of doing more harm. Meanwhile, Olivia experiences an unexplained time fluctuation." ]

Hi,

I think my problem is similar (but compounded by a move to using a NAS, so not sure yet).
In my case the problem is that neither the Play nor the remote buttons work. Also, the remote is slightly chopped off at the bottom, maybe due to tabs in use in Safari.
I am currently reinstalling iSkin to see if that works. If so, I will try a complete clean out of isKin2 and repeat preview3.
I did revert back to preview1 of iSkin2 but somehow it still picked up the "remote" addition you made, even though I had a copy of the iSkin2 directory in preview1 form.
This suggests there is some clean up needed in the root directory or something - any ideas?

If the play button and remote buttons don't work, the problem is most likely that you haven't correctly provided the information about your NMT in skin-options.xsl, as follows:

We've seen cases where changes made to skin-nmtList were not propagated into the iSkin2 output files on subsequent YAMJ runs. One way to make sure it does happen is to delete Categories.xml and Categories.html.

Are you using a Home Screen icon to launch iSkin2? That should hide all the Safari controls, so there will be enough room for the remote.

Yes, if you are reverting to a previous level on iSkin2, you will have to wipe out the output folder and regenerate everything from scratch.

skin-nmtList was right for all of them, so that was not the issue. But, a complete replacement worked.

preview 1 and 3 now work ok (but btw, there is some curious cross-over going on. launched preview 1 from iSkin even though the file referred to in the url was iSkin2 - odd).

Anyway, by using networkmounter the whole thing has come together nicely.

Yes, it fits ok on the home screen, but I have problems every now and then with some kind of caching that causes the iSkin not to display and only a refresh in safari will do the trick.

I also tried to change:

name="skin-doneURL" to
file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/nasvideosamba/iSkin2.html

but it seemed to have zero effect. I am not convinced about using that as the url even though I know that file is there.

/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/nasvideosamba/iSkin2/ is the file I use for the stream in the url to launch iskin.

I'm unable to reproduce this. I added dummy video files for Fringe Season 4, Episodes 1 - 5, and I set plugin.plot.maxlength=2000 to make sure YAMJ wouldn't truncate the plots.
I now get a very long plot for episode 5, but it doesn't have any newlines in it. Do you have something set in your moviejukebox.properties to preserve newlines? Or maybe this is a change in YAMJ behavior since r3012?

Ah I see the difference. I have .nfo files generated by MediaCompanion. They contain the newlines which get preserved by YAMJ.
So how do I filter out the newlines? Presumably a template in detail.xsl can do it, but I'm struggling with the syntax...

  • Must be manually enabled in the settings dialog, choose whether to use HTML 5 Video tags or Direct URL to video. Direct URL works well with VLC's plugin on Chrome
  • Other cosmetic changes

Yes, if all of the following conditions are met:

• You use HTTP streaming (rather than file shares or internal HDD)
• Your video files are in a format compatible with your tablet (or possibly your HTTP streamer is performing on-the-fly transcoding)
• You have enabled watching in the new settings dialog. I don't know which tablets will work better with "HTML5 Video" or "Direct URL". "Direct URL" works well for me with VLC and Chrome under Windows on my laptop.
