myiHome Media Server Software - v4.7?
I thought v3.21 was the latest available here:
http://divxtest.isstar.net/DNX-8620/MEDIALINKPC/ How is v.4.7 different and who developed it? I assume it works with other media players as well? |

myiHome 4.7 is designed for Networked Media Tank and myiHome 3.21 is for EM862x Syabas DMA or Networked DVD.

myiHome 4.7 for Mac is a Java application, I got it running on Linux without too much trouble.
You need J2RE 1.4+ and add QTJava.zip to the classpath in startserver.sh. Run it once to create ~/Library/myiHome/preference.xml and other directories. Add paths to preference.xml like this: and restart, works fine for me. Looks like only very minor changes should be needed to release an "official" Linux version... |

I can't!
I can't install myihome, could you please give a more detailed explanation?.
Should I do it using sudo?, I run startsever.sh, and it doesn't create preference.xml! Thanks! |

Are you using the linux package from this page?
http://www.networkedmediatank.com/download/myihome.html I made the myihome_4.7_linux.tar.bz2 tarball by repackaging the Mac version. You do not need to run it using sudo. Are you sure that no Library directory was created in your home directory? |

I have installed this version 4.7 and in it, in about my ihome show me "Syabas my iHome Version3.4" how its possible if i was installed the version 4.7?

Redownload it as you may have got mixed up somewhere. The version you refer to was for the older sigma chipset players. Uninstall and get this one:-
