RE: My C-200 made my 360 mad
Okay. Maybe it isn't... but I still have a piss-annoying problem.
My 360 fails when placed inside my new media shelving-unit, and gives an apparent "overheating" error. Even though there're six inches of space above it, behind it, and either side of it, with nothing else in the shelving-unit switched-on. [double-sigh] Okay. What can I do about this? Other than running the 360 outside the shelving-unit... which kinda defeats the purpose of the shelving-unit! |

Try stomping the DVD drive through the mother board. It is sure to never give you another RROD error again after that.

RE: My C-200 made my 360 mad
It's not an RRoD... ... ... yet!
Do any of those cooling add-ons work? I can't believe I'm having to invest in third-party equipment to make my Xbox 360 run for more than twenty minutes at a time. It really is pathetic. |

It is not preventable, except with luck. MS used to cover these errors and replace for free; they still may. One thing to remember with customer service is that EVERYTHING is negotiable. Even with big companies like MS. Do your best to keep a cool head, speak nice to the people ... if they do not replace your RROD Xbox, keep escalating to another manager until someone does. I have never been unsuccessful using this method with MS. Just explain to them how much money you have put into the system and how much you are disappointed in their quality assurance; tell a white lie or 5 if you need to. They will eventually bend and give you a new system. It may take a little patience though. |

RE: My C-200 made my 360 mad
I appreciate the suggestion, but my error is not a true "RRoD" error - that would be lights 1, 3 and 4 lit permanently, whereas I have lights 1 and 4 flashing. And now that I've taken the 360 out of the shelving-unit, the error has stopped. Clearly the machine needs a crosswind to prevent it from melting... shit design.

RE: My C-200 made my 360 mad
Man, my original 360 has been back 4 times with RRoD. In fact me and the guys share round the box to send it back in as we all have had at least 3 returns!
CoD and the impending Forza 3 and Modern Warfare 2 to look forward to! I play a lot less 360 nowadays as I'm always tinkering with YAMJ. Had a brief dalliance with UMC but back in the YAMJ fold again! I love fiddling with new skins and getting the artwork etc just right. I even downloaded colour BBFC logos for the Aeon skin as I thought they stood out a bit better. Drives the missus mad!! |
