Here's a HDMI-CEC bug related to the C-200:
TV: Sony Braiva XBR4 (Bravia Sync = HDMI-CEC) Receiver: Denon AVR-3808Ci (with HDMI-CEC upgrade) Without the C-200 hooked up into the system, TV will detect the receiver being a compatible CEC device, basic CEC functions works well with the receiver such as audio control, auto power off etc. Once the C-200 is hooked up via the HDMI and being powered on, C-200 will kill the existing CEC link in the entire system. When the C-200 power down, the CEC in the system is back to normal. I am suspecting the firmware in the C-200 is holding the Silicon Image HDMI Tx CEC_D signal low causing the CEC chain in the entire system not to be able to response (basically kill the CEC). The next firmware release if not capable to support CEC but at least program the CPI registers not to hog the CEC bus in the C-200 |

RE: HDMI-CEC bug
Same problem here with Pioneer devices (tv PHP 6090H, receiver SC- LX81, blu-ray BDP-LX71) - CEC working together perfectly ok till C200 is hooked in the system - then NOTHING works and all system CEC functionallity is killed ...
Firmware from November 20th - NO change, still same bug, unfortunatelly. |

RE: HDMI-CEC bug
Hopefully they fix this soon, this is the only bug preventing me from actually making the switch from A-100 to C-200.

RE: HDMI-CEC bug
Same problem here, this is quite frustrating seeing that this kills the sync of multiple components. The only way for the reset is to actually pull power from the C-200 first, and then power down the receiver and TV. When they power back up all is good until I use the C-200. Then it's back to the hole behind the entertainment center to either pull the plug or flip the rocker switch on the back of the C-200 then a full power down (unplug for at least a minute). I wish this would be addressed in the near future with the firmware update, it gets VERY annoying!!!

Sorry if a little off topic but wonder if may be related as I think is a HDMI issue... Milosu, I have the Pioneer SC-LX81 also, but I have the HDMI set to off. I am however experiencing video issues if set to 1080p output - it seems OK for a while and then it starts losing signal sometimes and other times I get thin red lines flashing across the screen. If I switch the res to 1080i the problem goes away (have framrate sync set to PAL/NTSC/24). This is being fed into a JVC HD1 projector and I'm on the latest C200 firmware. Any one else experienced any similar issues? Thanks |

The general report is that the sync issue (not CEC issue) goes away if you force it manually to your framerate instead of settings it PAL/NTSC/24. Try that and report back if you are still having the HDMI issue at 1080P... I'm trying the same test right now also on mine. I would like to know if it is in fact true. The problem seems to be in resolutions set by the auto framerate routine. Definitely some HDMI bugs they are still working out. I would love to use auto framerate also, but it seems like it has a bug. RE: HDMI-CEC bug
I've beaten this by a work around called - Tos-link and Component cables.... At least until a firmware update. What a downer having to revert back to the fiber optic input and components.

RE: HDMI-CEC bug
I just received the C200 2 days ago and run also in this problem.
I have to remove the hdmi kabel or powerdown the C200 to get the rest working again. I have a Sony DAV 3300 receiver connected to my philips tv, Cisco HD cable tuner, Xbox 360. Hopefully this bug will be fixed soon. Peter |

RE: HDMI-CEC bug
Well, don't feel alone pvdveen. The good thing about the Popcorn Hour is that this community exists and that the developers are involved. There aren't many products I can think of or remember that have been as supported as this. It does feel like a beta program but with such a technical (and cutting edge) piece of equipment it's to be expected..... Anyways, I hope this is taken care of as well. Although for the short term my solution of a tos-link cable and component cables sure made life easy.

When my C-200 (w/ latest Nov. 13 firmaware update) connected via HDMI to my Panasonic TH-50PZ750U plasma - I get red/blue lines flashing across the screen. Even on the homa page. Please tell me howto fix this. |

RE: HDMI-CEC bug
I just received my C-200 last week and finally got a chance to break this thing out of the box and giver her a go... I too am running my setup through a receiver and was concerned that I was going to have this issue as well... however, after several hours of playing around with different scenarios, I don't have this issue.
I'm running a Onkyo TX-SR876 receiver connected to a Samsung LN52A650 LCD TV. I have everything connected via HDMI Cable Box Playstation 3 XBOX 360 Popcorn Hour C-200 I can have the NMT turned on, standby, and off and can still use my reciever to switch successfully to each device. I did check my settings in my receiver and I do have the HDMI control set to OFF as I have no need to control Power or anything else through HDMI... The Monitor out HDMI port is also set to 1080p and I let my receiver do all the video upconversion for me. The C-200 is has Video Out set to Auto and the Framerate Sync is set to OFF. HDMI Audio is set to ON and Output is 5.1. All the settings below are set to Digital (RAW). DRC is Off. |

RE: HDMI-CEC bug
An acceptable interim solution for this problem would be to just have a toggle in the settings to disable HDMI-CEC, so we could at least use CEC with our other devices.
I really hope they release a firmware build with some kind of fix for this soon, it's still at the top of my list for bugs that I'd really like to see addressed. |

Or turn it off in your receiver and just deal with having to power everything on seperatly... isn't CEC buggy by nature to begin with and doesn't interoperate with other brands (meaning all your equip) has to be the same brand to function with CEC?)? |

RE: HDMI-CEC bug
My C200 is arriving this week. So as long as I don't use the HDMI-CEC, this doesn't cause a problem? I use a Harmony remote for all my devices so I don't use HDMI-CEC even though most of my devices support it.
PCH C-200: WD Caviar Blue 500GB -> DVDO DUO -> Denon 3808 -> Samsung LED DLP Three PopBoxes and my A200 is sold 42TB HP MSS WHS |

I don't want to disable the CEC between my TV and my receiver. It's not just a matter of having to power things on separately, it also means that I need a separate remote (the receiver remote) just to control the volume, not really acceptable, and it all worked just fine with the A-100. In an ideal world, I'd like the PCH to be on the same system so that it would switch to standby with the rest of my setup, but at the very least, I'd like it to not screw up the communication between my TV and receiver. I don't think it's a lot to ask. |
