Alright, i think we're good to go finally... this release has been tested on yamj 1120, so it should work with the newest features.


In case something is terribly wrong, i've left the download for version 1.3 available on omertron's site.

-Big thanks to my co-author Mcmilly the director/graphic extrodinaire. Also thanks to the usual crew of testers and helpers.

1.4 Changes/updates

-2 types of parental controls added. One (type 1) is a pop-up that asks for your password when you try to enter a details page. The other (type 2) is a tvid that you must enter (your password) to go in the movie details page. They're seperate and not ment to work together.

-Brand new tv index.... as seen here... (taken from comp...looks better on tv) Big thanks to meowmoo for the graphics on this new page.



-fixed & symbol in titles.

-Reorganized the entire code.

-Updated to work with newest YAMJ development build (r1120)

-option to show/hide the cover and plot upon page loading.


Parental Controls

Short explination on the 2 versions of parental controls

type 1

turn "Parental controls" to true in the redefined-options.xsl file

set your password in the "Parental-password" in the redefined-options.xsl file.


When you goto any movie in the index and click enter, it will prompt you for a password. If you enter the one you gave in redefined-options.xsl it will goto the movie page. If not it will tell you the password is wrong and do nothing.

Also, if this is turned on, the page up/down feature will be removed from movie pages so kids can't go from one page to the next.


Type 2.

Set Parental-controls to false in the redefined-options.xsl

Set Parental-controls-type2 to true in the redefined-options.xsl file

Set your password in "parental-password-type2" in the redefined-options.xsl file.

In this version when you browse to a movie in the index rated higher then PG-13, hitting enter will do nothing. The only way to get into that movie will be to type the password.

Also, if this is turned on, the page up/down feature will be removed from movie pages so kids can't go from one page to the next.



I'm gonna make a 3rd type when i get the time... which is to allow people into the movie details page. But then the only way to play the actual file will be to enter the password on the remote. (so movies under pg-13 will only require you to hit the play button.... movies pg-13 and higher, the play button won't work...only your password).


Also, currently there are 2 settings.... PG-13 or R. You can determine which movies get locked out. If you choose R movies, only R movies are passworded. If you choose pg-13 (the default) then both PG-13 and R movies are passworded.

-Actors and Directors are now clickable, IF you've setup YAMJ to index actors and directors then a actor/directors name will be yellow and clicking his name will take you to the index. If you don't have actors/directors indexed by YAMJ then clicking on the actor/director's name will take you to that person's IMDB page. (1.3)
-Incorporate Sliding transitions (-1.2)
-Season 0 doesn't get fanart on details page (-1.2)
-added the . back into filepaths on the videospec tab (-1.2)
-added a better background in episode plots (-1.2)
-added option to have the release year on the details page (-1.2)
-fixed episode titles falling off the screen on tv page (-1.2)
-fixed episode images not fitting in shadow fame (-1.2)
-Added support for playlists starting from each episode (-1.2)
-User option to set the delay for how long you can scroll the index before the fanart changes to the current selection.(1.2)
-User option to have the cover hidden by default or visible by default. If its set to hidden, then a "Cover" tab will appear above the main box to toggle the cover on and off.(1.2)
-Added support for issue 218 of YAMJ. You can now start a playall from your currently highlighted episode by hitting the play button on your remote instead of enter.(1.2)
-Fixed the back button from sets and tv shows (1.1)
-Fixed some images left on details screen after pressing the delete button(1.1)
-Add in garp's %20; code (Fixes how file paths appear on video tab) (1.1)
-User option for Titles of movie somewhere on page.(variable set in redefined-options.xsl file....is false by default) (1.1)

-Fanart only changes when hovering on a movie for 1 second or more (This increases scrolling speed and smoothness. Also this time can be adjusted to be greater or shorter...next release will probably have a user option to choose the delay time)(1.1)
-User option to set the place the home button takes you.(1.1)


First: expect bugs. Because theres gonna be some for sure. In fact we're aware of a couple already. Do not install this if you are easily frustrated

Second: This skin WILL NOT work for everyone's collections. The larger your collection, the more trouble you're likely to have. I hate to say that, but thats just the way it is. We've done testing on everything from like 80 movies to 360, and the results varied...but in general were pretty good.

-Left moves movies -1 space at a time
-Right moves movies +1 space at a time.
-up -9 movies
-down +9 movies
-Page up -27 movies

-Play button - plays the movie

note: movies will wrap around forward and backwards

Movie Details Page:

-Play: Starts the movie
-Enter on the dvd cover plays the movie
-left/right scrolls through the tabs
-Enter on a tab changes the information displayed in the box.
-The trailer tab will only show if the movie has a trailer.
-Delete: Shuts all graphics off to show all the fanart (not 100% working).
-Hitting the return button will return you to the index, and restore the same point in line you entered from.
-page up goes to the previous movie page
-page down goes to the next movie page
-Red=plot tab
-green=cast tab
-yellow=specs tab
-blue=cover tab



Tv details page:

-Right moves +1 episode
-Left moves -1 episode
-Up moves -5 episodes
-down moves +5 episodes
-Typing a number will jump to that episode's place. For example if you're currently on episode 3...and type 18. The list will instantly jump to episode 18.
-Delete toggles the episode plot on and off.
-Play button starts a "Play all" from the current episode highlighted

Details Navigation (all details pages):
-Info button toggles the navigation menu on and off
-Up/down switches between Letter and genre sorting
-left/right scrolls through the choosen sorting type.

-Doesn't handle seperate parts of multi-part movies.
-Tv page navigation text is off centered.
-The index can play only 1 iso or HD movie before the cache needs to be cleared. SD movies seem to play without problems...but from the index you'll only get 1 large file.

-Include Mcmilly's source icons.

-look at re-doing indexes with less then 9 movies.

Great update. I like the look of the new TV index. One question though, after selecting a show, does it use banners or posters for seasons? Would it be possible to get a screenshot of it?

Which to be 100% honest i'm not thrilled with thus far.

The downside to the current setup is that if a show doesn't have banners inside each season. You get the same banner for every season you have.

For instance, dexter has like 15 banners. But all of them are tied to the series, and has no individual season banners. So YAMJ gives you the same banner for all 3 seasons. Which makes my dexter season page kinda confusing (atleast i have the season number shown on screen tho).

But my hopes is that, we'll get that issue added sometime in the near future, and the skin is already setup to take advantage of it.

Yeah that's one of the reasons why I'm using a skin with posters for seasons atm. But as soon as this 'issue' has been resolved I'm changing back to your skin. Definitely the best looking skin out there.

Ya it was a late night, i donno about 5.5 hours. Maybe total for the night.

I kept making small stupid mistakes like forgetting a / to close out a xsl command, using 'or' instead of 'and' on the parental controls..

It was driving me nuts I'd fix one of them...run yamj, wait 5 minutes... see another error...fix that....run it...wait...another error.. repeat.

The worst part was, i had wrapped up all the major stuff already, so i figured it'd be an easy night. Find those 2 small bugs (screen jumping, images off)....and be done with it. And those were annoying, but quick enough (i got kinda lucky on my educated guesses). So quickly that i decided i should finish tackling the parental controls last night.

Ugghhh, that was a mistake.

But it seems to work how i wanted it so...atleast the frame work is done.

Now its only a matter of expanding out the ratings it filters out.

I think what i might do if it appears that issue will take longer to resolve then i hope is to make a user toggle option to switch between the poster view or banner view for seasons/sets. I THINK i can do that pretty easily.

I probably shoulda thought of that before releasing this version actually.

Not sure it's the same as what you are saying, but how about an option that allows banner view of
TV shows but then if you click on a TV set (ie multiple seasons) then it opens up a page of posters for each season.

So user who wants banners also gets the option of set-tv-banners or set-tv-posters.

That could be nicer since there are usually not many seasons for 90% of TV shows.

Currently the code is set to keep the same view (banners) for sets/seasons. But ya, it doesn't always work out so great for every show.

So untill that issue gets resolved i'm gonna try to make it so pages of sets/seasons can be the posters more like the normal index pages.

I'm not a huge fan of banners, they remind me of ads and I hate ads for tv shows.. thats an interesting way to use them though.
